Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green entered exclusive company in Friday night's win over the Celtics, becoming just the 16th player in NBA history to record a "5X5," with over five points, five rebounds, five assists, five steals, and five blocks in a single game.
All told Green tallied 24 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, five steals and five blocks. He was a monster, making every big play the short-handed Warriors needed to preserve their 28-game win streak dating back to last year.
It's an exclusive list that Green just joined, this 5X5 club. It's only been done 15 times in NBA history, the last being Nicolas Batum in 2012. Green's versatility is virtually unmatched in the NBA right now. He's exceptional in that every stat he racks up seems like a really significant play. Like here, his fifth steal of the evening, cutting off the Celtics' offensive lifeline late in the game.

Turnover going to lead to an easy transition bucket? Not so fast.

Some balked at Green's big-money contract last summer. Now, he's honestly looking underpaid. He's one of the few players in the league able to fill the stat sheet for a 5X5, and one of the only players who can do it and make it seem like each play is crucial to his team's success.
Have I mentioned he needs to be an All-Star?
Here's a game-by-game look at Green's points plus rebounds plus assists plus steals plus blocks this season, via StatMuse:

MY NOTE: The '5x5' thing sounds like it's just a geek thing, "let's see how many things we can string together and use the same number". How about 4x4? Or 6x6? Or why not 8x4 or something that doesn't appeal to the eye, but means more, than '5x5'? Either way, Draymond Green is a helluva player. He does everything well, everything.
