And at the time more than a few people thought we were overpaying him.

This is why the '15 - '16 season should be enjoyed; it's going to get ugly next season.

The huge jump in TV money already has players scrambling for a bigger piece of the pie.  When they start terminating agents at this accelerated pace, look for widespread unrest and demands to renegotiate early.

Owners versus players for an increased stake in the revenue is going to look like Rocky vs Apollo Creed 1.

at the time I felt his deal was fair market value. He and Thomas are both signed to similar deals, except IT's deal was front loaded.

I do understand where it is hard to perhaps see players like Amir signed to a deal worth 50% more than your own. but thats the downside of being an independant contractor.

He shoudl blame his agent 9at the time) if he feels he got snockered when he signed. The reality is AT THE TIME it was fair to both sides.

The players who have signed one year or short term deals last year and the year the before, were very smart, IMO.

as long as they stay healthy and on top of thier game, that is.

kdp,

He does blame his agent. That's why he fired him and hired a new one.

I agree with your post. Considering the player he was at the time the contract was signed, a defensive specialist with limited offense, the contract was more than fair. He is better than that now, but Danny didn't overpay for future potential, he paid for documented fact and some future potential. Once in a while he buys on future, like he did offering Mickey the biggest contract in 2nd rounder history even though he knew he had zero NBA experience and probably would not be playing much this year neither, but most of the time he won't do that. Look at Turner's contract. Pure reclamation project, paid as if it was a reclamation project.

When looking around the league and comparing some salaries, I guess that I can see why Bradley could be a little bit upset, BUT he signed the contract. No need to be upset with an agent because players actually sign the contract that they will play for.

If Bradley's past agent was willing to have him sign for 5 M and did not help him get his 8 M then perhaps you fire that agent during the negotiating process. But, since this was not the case (Bradley did sign the 8 M contract), firing the agent now must be for other reasons.

Bradley has only himself to blame about signing his 8 M per year contract for four years, and it is not time to start whining about not making enough money only half way through the contract.

When I had my own business I signed contacts all the time. I once was working on multiple estimates and was completely exhausted and dozed off at my desk... later crawled to bed to finish my book work in the morning. Somehow I messed up one estimate's labour part of the contract.

Anyhow I ended up with 32 hrs of hired help and 9 or 10 days of my own labor- about 10 hrs a day- materials I nailed right on budget. Got done right on time, and got the $500.00 for labor too.

When ya put ur name on the line ya man up and don't b☆☆☆☆ about how you feel about it afterwards if it doesn't seem as favorable as it had previosly.

Today too many lack honor... it's why we went from doing business on a handshake to documents written by lawyers..

Exactly. Those of us who do this as part of our business know you have to live with the consequences -- good or bad -- of the contractual obligations you make. If, in hindsight, I don't do as well on a contract as I should have, I learn from it and apply that lesson to future contracts. I also know that sticking by my word, especially when the client knows I didn't do well on a particular contract, builds my reputation with my clients and leads to more business in the future. Short term loss, long term gain.

I thought the contract was too low and was actuallu surprised that the celts were able to get him on the cheap.

I think this opens up the door for the Celtics to trade AB
