Bit of a misleading title as that is not what he said in the interview.

What Pierce said was that after the Celtics failed to get the first pick he assumed he would be traded and if you needed to be traded Dallas was the place he hoped he ended up.

He never said he was pushing for the trade he simply said if he had to go he would like to go to play for the Mavericks. Subtle but very big difference IMO.

Pierce said on AGW that when Danny traded for Ray Allen he knew he wouldn't be traded and that Danny had a plan to get another star. He didn't know it was KG until after the fact.
