LeBron James Apparently Is Unfamiliar With Celtics Legend Tommy Heinsohn

Tommy Heinsohn has one of the most impressive basketball résumés out there, but apparently it’s not enough for him to be known by LeBron James.

James fielded a question involving Heinsohn during his media availability Sunday, but it appears as though the Cleveland Cavaliers star isn’t familiar with the Boston Celtics legend.

You would think James, a diligent student of the game, would know who Heinsohn is. The legendary big man won eight NBA championships with the Celtics as a player and two as a head coach. As a result, his No. 15 hangs in the rafters at TD Garden.

Not to mention, Heinsohn serves as the television color commentator for the C’s, who James has played against an abundance of times over the course of his 14-year NBA career.

Then again, it could have just been a brain cramp on behalf of the Cavs forward. Most of his focus probably is on trying to achieve the unfathomable: defeating the Golden State Warriors in the 2017 NBA Finals after being down 3-0 in the series.

MY NOTE: "A diligent student of the game"? This is the same guy who said that the league should retire MJ's #23 when he went to Miami, but wore Bill Russell's #6 when he was there, and has now gone back to #23.

Yup. We all thought LeBron was historically challenged when he went from 23 to 6. He then said that everyone in the NBA should stop using 23 and it should forever be retired.

It's just not all that surprising. Tommy could be a 3 time Hall of Famer before Lebron is a 1 time Hall of Famer.

I don't believe him.  Why give credit to an old timer who was so damn good .  Especially a Celtic.  These young guys think the game didn't exist until Bird/magic.  Sorry, you know how I feel about that. There is just something about James that irritates me to no end.

And, add Mark Jackson to that list. I don't know if I will just shut the voice off and what the finals game because he is sooooo. Irritating.
