Danny Ainge could have easily offered more for Paul George, but wasn’t willing to risk likely lottery pick(s) for a one-year rental.

Shocking, okay great LA will still suck without George, we still have the Nets and Lakers/Sacto pick and we still have Jaylen and Jayson.....so glad Danny didn't fock anything up.

Well, that was quick.  They obviously liked getting two bodies, stupid trade.  This was a back handed slap at Ainge, give me everything or I will go elsewhere. I am glad he did not give up the young players. I may be alone in that thinking but it is the way I feel.

These GMs ask the world from Danny and then trade elsewhere for peanuts?

Seriously. I wouldnt have given up what they wanted for George (picks) and OKC can afford to take a chance on a rental. We cannot. With that, He cannot keep strikeing out on elite players like Butler and George for picks. These are 2 bonfire YOUNG stars. We'll soon find out if indeed it was the draft picks that killed this deal.
Regardless, im still pissed.
PS. Losing Hayward will be strike 3.

Maybe, but it could be fun watching these kids grow and become bonfire stars. That is probably why Danny did not budge, they wanted a young guy, not crowder, or even Bradley.

If Lowry leaves then the East is Cleveland, Boston and Washington.  Washington just signed John Wall to a max contract.  That will make it tough to keep Beal and Porter.  Cleveland is getting long in the tooth

LeBron will be 33 in December.

We are heading into year 5 of a minimum 3-5 rebuild and we could compete even better in the EC Finals next year because Jaylen and Rozier will be more experenced, and then we'll have the Golden Egg (we had the #1 pick this year, so maybe Tatum is the Golden Egg and next year will be a second Golden Egg?).

Time is on our side and we don't need much more of it.

That's why I don't mind waiting an extra 2-3 years.

I believe we won't see the final product until we know who Ainge gets with the 2018 Nets pick.
The 2018 Nets pick is the final piece of the puzzle.
