Marc Gasol Anyone?

There are some articles out there that are saying that, with the non-renewal of The Grindmaster Tony Allen and Zebo, the Memphis Grizzlies are hopelessly placed in the middle of the league, which is the worst place to be.  Therefore, opines numerous authors, one of their last valuable pieces, Marc Gasol, will end up on the block at some point.

Should Danny take a run at him and, if so, who/what would you be willing to give up for him?

Here's some stats:

He will be 33 years old on January 29th.  Older, but not ancient.  Probably 3-5 years left, if his brother Pau is any indication.

2016-2017
34.2mpg, 19.5ppg, 45.9% fg%, 38.8% 3pt fg%, 83.7% ft%, 6.3 rpg, 4.6apt, 2.2TOpg (2.09:1.  Quite nice for a center).

Which players on the Celtics with salaries that add to about 19 mil would the celtics be willing to trade for Gasol - and which of those players would the Grizzles likely want as they rebuilt for the future ?

I'm not sure they would want anything I'd want to part with, but...

I'd be happy to give them any combination from among Yabusele, Baynes, Larkin and Crowder (sorry Jae).  No draft picks I'd consider, but if they wanted a legit prospect, perhaps Semi.  Not sure Baynes can be traded yet, or if so, when.  I don't know what makes the money work, nor do I want to take the time to look it up.

Beyond that I don't know that Gasol isn't a little pricey for us at this point.

6.3 rpg in 34.2 minutes quite nice for a center of 7-1 ?

The lux tax ramifications of this make it next to impossible. Keep Gasol, IT and Smart and Wyc pays over 100 million in tax alone.

on a serious note I say a piece today that said Noel changed agents in the hope he can somehow get a deal closer to what he thinks he is worth (which is MAX).....NOT gonna happen Noel. best to take that one year tender and show the NBA you can be a regular starter at Dallas this year. Then at least you will be an UFA next season.

Last years dumb-ass deals for max and near max given to non-star types players , was only a one year mistake. The correction started this year and will continue.

Hell even Danny who some said had enough dollars for Two max players (he never did) knows better. Horford and Hayward are the only two outside fA's coming here for max or near max money ...at least until Horfords deal is done.
