Will Boston make it to the NBA Finals within the next 2 years?
We made it to the Conference Finals last year, so making it back there doesn't prove anything about this trade. There may, even, be a short-term setback as chemistry, roster holes (e.g. @ big) are filled but will we be playing the winner of the WC Finals within 2 years? That is the key question because, if the answer is no, then the argument that this trade was not a good one since LeBron and/or Kyrie would be leaving Cleveland by this time next year regardless becomes stronger. Furthermore, in the interest of full disclosure, it would substantiate a position I took on another thread which is that this trade says that Danny is thinking 3-4 years worth of additional player development to get there and not 1-2.
If it's all about #18 then every trade, every signing, should bring us closer to it. Sometimes it isn't a straight line, sometimes there has to be subsequent trades to get the player you want but you need the player you just traded for to make it happen (e.g. trade for Marcus Thornton and a Cleveland 1st round pick, trade for IT, trade IT for Kyrie; not to mention the Rondo for Crowder trade), but once you "get your man", once you get your KG, the path to the Finals should become much more clear, the goal noticeably closer.
Did this trade for Kyrie clear the path to #18? Are we better positioned to play GSW or whomever within 2 years? Set aside whether we could beat them when we get there, did this trade make it more likely we'll have that chance within 2 years? That means by June, 2019.
No multiple choice votes, you can cancel a vote and re-vote. If you see a shade of gray that is not available in the voting choices you can, of course, always select 'Other' and explain what that alternative is (explaining your straight up vote is desired too). Needless to say, with Trader Danny at the helm, future trades are always a possibility, if not probability, but you shouldn't take those into account here. We don't know who he would trade for (e.g. none of us saw this trade coming) nor who would have to go in those trades. Assume the team we have now except perhaps end-of-benchers who are, by definition, non-impact players. Assume the same core team.

Seems a bit premature to make any choice without having seen even a preseason game let alone a regular season game. I think we will be better and where that takes us, it takes us.

I voted yes.
I think the Cavs are ripe for the picking. They had 2 unstoppable players now they have one.
They do not have anyone to check Kyrie. IT will bitch all year about sharing minutes with Rose and the ball with Lebron
Boston plays a very similar style to Golden State and within 2 years the Celtics roster will have enough experience including the rotation to beat any team. Boston still has enough draft picks to add whatever they need to be even better over the next 2 years.

Yes. And we will win all 4 games in the pre-season and 82 games in the regular season.
In the playoffs, we go 4-4-4-4 and win it all.
Cleveland will rue the day they made this trade.
