How many games will the Boston Celtics win in the 2017-2018 regular season?
The Celtics 2017-2018 regular season win total poll
Now that the pre-season is over, we have seen what our actual team will look like against other NBA teams. We have gone against the 76ers and Hornets, not exactly the meat of the NBA. With that said, we did look pretty good out there when we did have our rotational players on the floor. In many of the pre-season games, Brad took the opportunity to mix and match non starters and end of the bench players in the second half of the games in order to see what rose to the top.
Due to the turnover of last season's roster, not many have ventured a guess as to the win total for this season. I saw a few scattered around, so those who have gone out on the limb already elsewhere, please feel free to post your guess here.
Our predictions last year, on average, were pretty much on the dot, with many clustered around the final result. Lets see how we do this season.
Anyway, without further ado, How many games will the Boston Celtics win in the 2017-2018 regular season? Make your choice in the poll and let us know of your ideas in a post.
Thank you for participating,

Re: The Celtics 2017-2018 regular season win total poll
I think we will win a couple more games this season than the last. We will once again "Feast on the East", which should add to our win column.
With Cleveland (on paper) older and not so great on defense, many teams will be able to push them to play their old guys more each game. LeBron may not even play for a while, nursing a sprained ankle. That alone could hinder him throughout the season. No one knows if Isaiah Thomas will come back this season at 100%.
I think we will take the 1st seed in the East. This year, we won't have to back into it like last season, when the Cavs rested some of their starters as the season wound down. I think that after the All-Star break, we put many of the better Eastern Conference teams in our rear view mirror.
I pick 58 wins.

Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention.
Feel free to vote up until November 11. We will have played 13 regular season games by then. With the shortened pre-season, we didn't get a very good chance to form a proper opinion.

I picked 57. I like this team and suspect it won’t take more than a few weeks for the rotations and roles to be established.
As hopeful as I am, I think this year will be a learning experience. The payoff will be in a year or two when Jaylen and Jason have more experience and can really contribute consistently, Smart and Rozier are savvy veterans but still young, and all our players are close to their prime still except for Horford.
The future is bright. Now let’s make sure Kyrie resigns for the long haul and the Lakers end up with the second pick in the draft after the ping pong balls fall our way again!

I've gone back and allowed vote cancellation. Considering the change in circumstances, I thought that it was best to allow everyone to change their vote.
I am going to stick with 58 wins. The injury to Hayward is somewhat offset with the strong play by Tatum and Baynes. Add the eight million dollar man at the trading deadline and it is a wash.
Again, thank you for your participation.

Hi,
No one changed their selection to 81 or 82. Interesting...

I’m sticking with 57. No matter what I do I just can’t take off my green tinted glasses and I remain optimistic!

Re: The Celtics 2017-2018 regular season win total poll
I said 55, I would push to 60 or more with Gordon Hayward. Without him, I think we will hit a wall at some point and lose a few especially to West Coast teams.
I love the makeup of this team and pray that we have no major injuries to deal with. A game or two, here or there, you can deal with. If Al was to be out for any stretch of time, it would really play havoc with the team.
It is fun to be able to look ahead and see that there is sunshine for a while. Now we have to worry about making it so good that Kyrie will just sign a long extension and stay here. He seems content right now, let's hope it stays that way

Hi,
I put my chips on 59.
Despite loosing GH for the season, we've got Brown in his second year, doing almost 15/7, so far; and he's still growing. And we've got Tatum with 13/6 and who just started to grow. On top of that these two can defend multiple positions.
Also, EC became weaker this year while Celtics became, IMO, stronger than the last year.

I'm a dood of my word, sticking with 60, but willing to admit I may have underestimated my team.

I'll say 58 wins. We are, by every measure, better than last year. But the heavy reliance on young players (out of necessity, mind you) will probably result in losses of winnable games.

Now you are all making me feel like a chicken, afraid to go out on a limb and say they will win more than 55 games. I am just afraid of the bubble bursting with these young guys, and the loses accumulating, especially when they are on the road. Milwaukee has just strengthened their club, Washington will be loaded for bear to beat us, and even though they are losing more than they are winning, Brooklyn has played us hard for the last year. That is not even touching Toronto. Miami......they are no problem. Sixers give us a run too.
So, I will not go nuts but I will change a little and up it to 59
