Cousins helped NO overcome 17 point lead in the last five minutes of regulation to beat the Bulls. Amazing stat line.

the guy has amazing talent for sure. Maybe not Wilt or Kareem like but damn close.

too bad he hasn't grown up...I put him in the same category as Dwight Howard, amazing talent, but not much in the brains or heart department.

As this very talented big man enters his prime, and is out of the mess that is Sacramento, he is showing more and more that he should be one of the most sought after free agents in the league next summer.

He is playing very well almost every night, has cut his anger (fewer Ts) and is helping New Orleans to even think of having a shot to go to the playoffs. Anthony Davis is a fantastic player, but without Cousins play this year they might still be in consideration for a high level lottery pick.

KDP, I think that Cousins is far more talented than Dwight Howard in many ways in that he can do everything that Howard can do PLUS he can shoot much better from all spots (inside, outside and FTs)
and also pass much better than Howard.

Not sure the Cs can afford him, but wouldn't he look good in green?

I concur. I think that Cousins has found a niche and comfort level with NO. The calamity in Sac frustrated him and was the main cause of his many outbursts. Constantly losing does that too. I've observed him to be a more composed player since joining NO. He seems to be happier now and enjoys playing alongside AD. I think NO will re-sign him to continue their twin towers domination in the front court.

Yes, he is a much more polished player on offense than Howard, who mainly relies on his size and brawn to get inside the lane to score. Cousins has the scorer's touch and finesse that Howard lacks.

DeMarcus Cousins is a remarkable talent.  He can do it all.  There's nothing wrong with this brain, his BBIQ is outstanding.  There's nothing wrong with his heart either, in terms of passion and the effort he is willing to put out for his team.  Ironically, however, his heart is also his liability.  He wants to win SO MUCH, and wears that on his sleeve, that he is a magnet for technicals because refs can see exactly what he is thinking and feeling.

It's a nice thought, having someone like a Boogie (or Anthony Davis or...) in green but we'd have to give up one of Hayward, Kyrie or Horford to afford them.  If it's Horford we'd also have to give up some serious draft picks.

A lot of people including myself wondered if Cousins and Davis coexist.

Now we know that NOLA has a very special pair.  They have combined for 52 points per game, 23.4 rebounds, 7.6 assists, 2.76 steals and 3.59 blocks.  

Holiday has made a great adjustment to playing off the ball and Rondo continues to prove that he knows how to get guys the basketball.  Former Celtics E'Twaun Moore rounds out their starting lineup.  

This team is missing SF depth and overall better perimeter defense.  That's it.  Cousins will be a free agent but he can get max money by staying put.  The Pelicans have every reason to resign him.

Celtics fans can dream all day and night about getting Davis or Cousins but it is not likely to happen.

NOLA has a very bright future. With a very few additions they will be as good as any team in the NBA.
