Boston police in a statement say Jabari Bird is being guarded at a local hospital for an evaluation after a domestic incident and that complaints will be sought against the suspect for assault & battery 209A, strangulation and kidnapping.

If there is any truth to this, it will wreck his career. I guess that we will have to wait for more information before forming an opinion.

The CBA includes a domestic violence policy.  The team could take disciplinary action as well as the Commissioner.

I see a 5-10 game suspension and maybe a fine.

I recall Sully had an incident early in his career and had to sit out a game.  

I do not think this ruins his career but it certainly adds doubt.

Any chance Bird is the victim, and that he is in the hospital being treated for injuries?

I would doubt that Bird is the victim if he was charged with assault.

Anything is possible, maybe he got smacked around or hit by a vase or something, why is he in hospital?

The police said that he was in the hospital for evaluation - could that possibly mean "psychological" evaluation ?

If I remember correctly, wasn't Saint Elizabeth's the hospital with the big psych ward? It's been 42 years since I drove cab in Boston.

They have a psych department there.

Very little has come out.  It sounds like the incident did not occur at his residence.  He recently got an apartment in the same area as rookie, williams.

The victim's name or gender has not been disclosed.  Back in 2016 he was reportedly dating Kelli Harris, a UCLA graduate who played basketball there.

Being kept in the hospital means he was either injured or he had some sort of mental breakdown

You just never know what lies beneath.  You never know about the darkside until something like this happens.

We will likely hear more tomorrow after the arraignment.

Regardless of the circumstances - we are mostly talking about the potential derailing of a young person's career with a bad decision, and this is what you come up with?

Does not look good for Jabari. He and his girlfriend are both in need of healing prayers.

This is one of those times basketball comes in well behind a person, or couple's, well-being.

Looks like he will not be arraigned today.

Man he must be really messed up.

100%. Feeling bad for Jabari - in no way means you cant also feel bad for his girlfriend.
