The Boston Celtics are struggling again and there are a lot of opinions about who should be playing and who should not. There has been a lot of analysis over which lineups work and don’t, and almost every Celtics fan has an opinion about giving and taking away playing time.


Now you have a chance to be the coach. Using this simple table, you can dole out the minutes as you see fit. Your only limitation is the 240 minutes available (five positions, 48 minutes per position). If you give out too many, you’ll have to take them back from someone else.


Play around, screenshot and share with your friends to come up with what you think would be the right amount of playing time for the Boston Celtics.

There are simply not enough minutes to go around in my opinion.  

That is the conundrum that coach Stevens has been dealing with all season.  Brown and Tatum are 30 MPG players,  Kyrie should be playing 34 per game.  A healthy Hayward is a 30 MPG player.  Horford and Morris and Smart all all 26-30 MPG players.  Rozier is a 20 MPG guy.  That still leave Theis and Semi and no minutes for Williams, Yabuselle and Wannamaker.  And what about Baynes?  15-18 MPG seems about right.  

I would give Tatum, Brown and Hayward 30 MPG and Kyrie 34.  That's 124 minutes.

I would give Horford, Smart and Morris 26 MPG for a total of 78 (78+124 =  202),  Rozier gets 20 and Baynes gets 15 for 25.  The total now is 227.  The remaining 13 minutes would go to Theis or Semi depending on matchups or distribute as needed.Get RW 10 Minutes every other game for example.
