The Four-Headed Monster Empty The Four-Headed Monster

It just occurred to me that we have 3 players who are 20+ ppg scorers and another that is close.  I can think of only one other team that has ever been able to make that same claim, and they did it multiple times and won a bunch of Championships.  I'm referring, of course, to the Golden State Warriors of Curry/Durant/Thompson, and look at their results.

And even they didn't have a 4th scorer that was as productive as Gordon has been for us this year.  The more threats you have, the more difficult it is to defend.  That was our weakness back when we had IT, everybody knew he was it, so all they had to do was get the ball out of his hands.  That won't, and hasn't, worked this year.

Jayson Tatum -        20.2ppg
Jaylen Brown -        20.4ppg (Jaylen is outscoring Jayson.  Think about that for a second!)
Kemba Walker -       24.5ppg
Gordon Hayward -   18.9ppg
Marcus Smart -       12.0ppg

2018-2019 Golden State Warriors.  57-25.  Lost in the NBA Finals to Toronto

Steph Curry -             27.3ppg
Kevin Durant -           26.0ppg
Klay Thompson -        21.5ppg
DeMarcus Cousins -   16.3ppg (but only 30 games, a total of 771 minutes)

2017-2018 Golden State Warriors.  58-24.  World Champions over Cleveland

Steph Curry -             26.4ppg
Kevin Durant -            26.4ppg
Klay Thompson -         20.0ppg
Draymond Green -      11.0ppg

2016--2017 Golden State Warriors.  67-15.  World Champions over Cleveland

Steph Curry -            25.3ppg
Kevin Durant -           25.1ppg
Klay Thompson -        22.3ppg
Draymond Green -     10.2ppg

I think we have 4 20 PPG scorers including GH.

GH showed me enough to conclude that he is easily a 20 PPG scorer on this team.

GH and Jaylen Brown did not get to play big minutes last year.  This year they are getting the minutes and the shot opportunities and their efficiency has been most impressive.

I cannot wait for Gordon to return.

If there was a question about how a 3 wing lineup could work given the need for our wings to get their looks, that question has been answered.  Boston is getting outstanding play from their wings and at this juncture, you really have to include Smart.

Boston has 3 top 25 scorers in the NBA.  GH is a point or two just below that figure.

Jaylen Brown is #7 in scoring at SG and 1st in rebounds among the top SG's.

Jason Tatum is 4th in scoring among all Power Forwards

Kemba Walker is 5th in scoring among all PG's in the league.

Gordon Hayward is 7th in scoring among all Small Forwards

Having highend players at 4 different position is amazing.  4 of our players are top 7 or higher in scoring at their position.

i just wanted to bring this to everyone's attention.

The way we switch on defense and the way any of our top 4 can initiate the offense, I don’t think traditional position has to be noted. We really share the ball and make not the extra pass, but a few extra passes....were always getting open looks.
