Giving Kelly O his due
Sorry Cow, but Kelly has manned up in this series against the Lakers, as he did somewhat against us, and he deserves some credit. Kudos Kelly for showing some ganas. I wish you and Miami all the luck in the world in these next games against LA. I hope you win.

He played terrific when they needed him the other day, I have to say that. The guy does have talent, he just was so inconsistent at times. We could have used his length in the playoffs.

Ktron, can't slip anything past you!
In the ECF Kelly played 13 minutes against us 9/19, had 2 Rb and scored 3 points on fritos.
9/23 he was a DNP.
9/25 he played 4 minutes and scored 5 points
9/27 he was a DNP
How embarrassed should I be?

4 points 2 rebounds they didn’t go to him enough, it happens even to 7 foot role players

Re: Giving Kelly O his due
Olynyk is clearly the definition of a player who is what he is.
This is kind of too bad because he is no longer considered as a rookie or even a young player as he is now a seven year pro and has just not (at least to me) gotten much better than he was when entering the league with the Cs.
He still has pretty much the same skill sets, and unfortunately, pretty much the same physical capabilities. So, he has more experience, but has not improved very much.
Is his limited improvement a coaching issue or is it a player issue? Either way, I am glad that he and his salary is not on the Cs books these days even though I did support him when with the Cs and making far less money.

Re: Giving Kelly O his due
Up and down, that is the way you describe Kelly. During the game 3, he played well, I don't know exactly how many points he ended up with, but when I looked he had 20 points. Last night he was of not much use. This is Kelly, one night he makes you drool over his skill set, then goes on a roll of games where he is nothing. He has gotten the best contract he will ever get, I believe, from Miami. There are just guys who can't put it all together night after night. Too bad

Kelly’s playing time was key to tonite’s victory for Heat, Spolstra really knows how to use him....

Cow, I had the exact same thought. Kelly played a perfect game with zero mistakes. Key to the zHeat vi ctory.

KO has a shot at getting a championship ring as does Crowder.
KO will always be limited by his physical abilities. However he has a high basketball IQ.
I would take him over all the bums Danny drafted last year including Grant Williams.

Let’s see where GWill is next year, he can get better IMHO.

Kelly Olynyk is 29, has played 7 seasons and played 1400 minutes in his rookie year (many of them out of position. Danny said, on draft night, he saw Kelly as an NBA 4 and not a 5). Grant Williams is 21, a rookie and played 1043 minutes this year (also many of them as a small-ball center). I have no idea what GWill's ceiling is, I have an admitted blind spot with tweeners, but I recognize an unfair comparison when I see one.

I do not need to see. He has zero talent. He will be out of the league in a few years. It is not like he actually has skills to develop. He has no skills.cowens/oldschool wrote:.dboss wrote:KO has a shot at getting a championship ring as does Crowder.

Harsh Dboss. He sets screens and boxes out well and sometimes plays decent D, but otherwise, let him go, along with Semi. Carsen, Poirier, Enes, , and Tremont.
