ESPN Sources: Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey is stepping down.
If Woj is reporting it, it's better than gold in Ft. Knox.
Morey might be the only GM in the league that was more trade-happy than Danny.
After trading for Westbrook and going all in on Antoni-microball and coming up dry, change is not unexpected, especially after Antoni blew town.
Don't be surprised if pieces get moved on and off the launching pad down there. The question is "what do they have that Danny would want?".
Harden. He drives us crazy but, man, would that change things in Beantown!
Westbrook. A force of nature, but 31 years old and 3 years/$133M left on his contract. Is Danny THAT nuts?
Eric Gordon. Also 31, 4 years and $76M left. Great shooter, but not good age for us.
Covington. I like him, but...
Nope. Don't see anybody that has the right combination of age and contract. Doesn't mean Danny can't help grease the skids with some draft picks and/or players to facilitate a trade between Houston and someone who does want one of these players, and Danny gets something back of greater value.
What do you think? If changes coaches portends personnel changes to fit the new coaches philosophy I would expect nothing less from the change of a GM, especially after Morey and Antoni just swung for the fences on the Westbrook and Capela trades and whiffed on both.

D’Antoni and Morey should be thrown in jail for what they did for what’s left of that franchise. They were so much better with Chris Paul and Capella, now their gonna be in a free fall, giving away anything they can BEFORE they can even start to rebuild.
