First game is tomorrow  USA Men vs Nigeria (Exhibition) @Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas Nevada, It's a 6   5 PM PDT start

The game will come on at 8 PM on NBCSN. I guess I will record it and watch it after the Suns/Bucks game 3.

Regarding the Team USA roster. they should have added one more center. Bam is the only center and I remember what happened in the FIBA tournament. Some big teams killed us.

I guess Team USA will use their extraordinary fire power, speed and athleticism.

As most of you know, Nigeria beat Team USA last night in an exhibition game.  It was a meaningless game for Team USA although Nigeria seemed to take the game more seriously.  Nigeria knocked down 20 three point shots, played really good defense and did not turn the ball over much.  Mike Brown is their coach.

Team USA was missing several players like Booker, Middleton and Holiday.

This team has multiple great scorers.  What they do not have is enough depth in the middle.  It appears that this team is built around offense.

Team USA plays Australia today.  The game will be on NBCSN at 8 PM EST

That is 0-2 during this exhibition tune up for the Olympics.

The Boomers have been playing together for a a long time and that guy Patty Mills, can still play (hint, hint) with a very high level of energy and shot making abilities.

Team USA looks disconnected. They are structured around a collection of truly great offensive players. They look like a team that has not played together. This exhibition trailer should help them to figure some things out once the movie is released.

However , I am concerned that they lack quality bigs on this team and that may become their achilles heel.

They play Argentina today and the game will be televised on NBCSN at 6 PM EST.

They are tired and coasting, as dboss mentioned not playing together, the other teams are getting up for them. A lot of these players should be resting after this compressed season, them having to really push themselves to win is a credit to the rest of the world. Wish Tatum would have passed up on this charade where a bunch of old connected administrators are going to make a lot of money.

I was thinking the same thing about Tatum playing. After his bout with Covid I felt that he should have not played. I do understand that the chance to win a gold medal was too attractive to pass up.

With so many international players from other countries playing for NBA teams, the GAP is thin and having USA written across the front of your jersey does not entitle you to bring home the Gold.

Interesting note: The top centers in the NBA were not born here. (Embid, Gobert, Jokic, Ayton, Vucavic, Valanciunas.

Perhaps Pop is too old and gray to coach still. What did he ever win without Tim Duncan?

Perhaps the players see what a pompous asswipe he is during interviews and tune him out? Sound familiar?

Pop is 9-5 with USA teams. Coach K was 74-1.

USA Men vs Australia (Exhibition)  - CANCELLED

I have yet to hear a player say I got covid but I was already fully vaccinated.  It was reported by I think, Jalen Rose that Chris Paul had been vaccinated.  No report has said that he actually was infected but the NBA protocols require a player to be away from the team for x number of days if that person comes into contact with a person who has tested positive.

Now I read that Bradley Beal will not be going to Tokyo.  

The entire planet wants to rip off the masks and hug everyone.

There are three sides to the story.  One group that fully embraces the science and another group that does not fully embrace the science.  And I guess there are some in between.

Bobc, No coach wins without good players.
Pop is well respected by players and his peers and can still coach his ass off. Don’t care for his smart ass answers during in-game interviews. Other than that he’s one of the best to ever do it.
