Celtics O'Neil Out for Season

Celtics center Shaquille O'Neil is reported out for the season after injuring his right knee in a fall on icey pavement at his Subury Ma. home late last night. The 15 time all star was returning from a birthday party for his son. A spokesperson for the Celtics confirm that the injury is season ending. Anonymous sources close to the situation quote Shaq as saying "this could be it." The all star center was attempting a comeback from an inflamed achilles heal injury suffered in January.

O'neil was taken to Brigham and Women Hospital in Boston and held overnight for observation and further testing tomorrow.

Rajon Rondo the all star point guard for the Boston Celtics fractured his right hand in a freakish accident while leaving the court at the conclusion of last nights Celtics Spurs match up of two of the NBA elite teams.

While leaving the court and slapping hands of Celtic fans who attended the game, Rondo hand got engaged in metal bracketing along the corridor leading to the Celtics locker room.

X'rays confirmed the fracture and Rondo was sent along with Nenad Krstic who was injured earlier in the game back to Boston for further evaluation and tests.

Doc Rivers was quoted as saying "what else is the Leprechaun going to do to us" while boarding the Celtics charter flight to Atlanta for tonigh'ts game.

Doc Rivers announced plans to retire at the end of the season. Danny Ainge said he would hire his good buddies Kevin McHale and Larry Bird to replace Doc, each taking turns coaching the team every other game.

Danny also mentioned plans to extend offers to Greg Oden and Yao Ming for next season. "We don't have enough injured centers right now," Danny said. "If we can get 15 games each out of JON, Shaq, Krstic, Oden, and Yao, we're almost set. It'll be up to McHale and Bird as to decide which center plays."

Plausable......very plausable Mr. Spike!
