Daniels could be Celtics' free-agent target

An intriguing free agent option may surface for the Celtics when this NBA lockout finally ends. Former Celtic Marquis Daniels is healthy, working out, and ready for an NBA return, according to agent Mark Bartelstein.
Daniels last played for the Celtics Feb. 6, when he collapsed on the TD Garden floor after a what appeared to be a mild collision with Orlando's Gilbert Arenas. Daniels was taken off on a stretcher and later declared out for the season with a spinal condition that required surgery.
After an injury-plagued 2009-10 season, Daniels was bouncing back with a solid year before the injury. He was traded to the Sacramento Kings for cash to clear a roster spot. But Bartelstein said he is open to returning to the Celtics.
"Marquis is doing great," Bartelstein said. "He's working out and going full speed. He's working out and ready to go. He's absolutely ready to go."
Daniels averaged 5.5 points and 2.3 rebounds in 49 games last season.

If he is healthy, love to see him return. He is versatile and can fill a number of needs the Celtics have. Well liked and an all-'round good soldier.
