marquis daniels was not listed at any position, but he did have an nba ranking of 167- which put him in the pg area between d.j. austin and jeff teague {so ahead of the cav's daniel gibson}
its interesting out of the top 4 teams {according to the experts} that according to these rankins the celtics have easily the best starting lineup - out of these 4 teams, the celtics have on of the top 2 players @ 4 of the 5 positions
other notes-
*boston is 14th in scoring [100.5]
*we lead the league with 27 assists per game- despite being 14th in scoring with 27 a game- compare that too the next closest team with 24.3 assists per game
*26.1 rebounds a game [3rd best],
*tied for 6th best fg%
*first in defense limiting opponets to 81.3 a game -
*we're making other teams misreable by allowing only 39.1 % fg% [2nd best],
*7th in steals
*6th in blocks

Re: realgm player rankings..
Matty,
Interesting figures. The only one I'd clariify would be number of rebounds.
The figure of 26 is the number of defensive rebounds Celtics' opponents have averaged. The Celtics themselves have averaged 41 total rebounds.
Looking pretty good though, huh?

Re: realgm player rankings..
Who in their right mind would rank Anderson Verajao, Sheldon Williams, and Ryan Anderson above Rasheed Wallace?
That is just silly.

statistics... no one is involved in deciding the ranking, its all about the stats- and its based on figgures from only 4 or less games this season- for example, delonte west's stats.. 1 game
as Sam would be more than happy to point out- even the stat's leave out a very important factor- how what each player does/doesnt do effects the team he plays on- or even how his teammates respond to his own game..
for example, some people think that a guy like rondo plays so well because he's playing with other such great players, that if he were on a lesser quality team his stats would fall, if that were true, it ought to be true for every player on every team... but another celtics player, Scalabrine statistically looks better playing with our starters than he does while units 2 & 3. the reason scal's stats looked better when he was playing with the starters- like last season during the injuries was because the starters knew and understood better how to take advantage of the sort of player scalabrine is, which is an enabler. Scal though a physically inferior player to 299 of the other guys in the league can play and make the C's better when he's out on the court than other more physically talented players becuase he understand the game better and thus makes decisions that open up the games of his teammates who understand what he's doing.. which is usualy the more vetern players compared to the Walkers, Baby's Powe's and so on of the league...
back to my point, its just stats.. and this far into the season, its more a point of interest than anything else.. its definetly not an attempt to identify definitively.... for example look at the season rankings for all players now on the same site...
http://www.realgm.com/src_playerrankings.php?season=2009-2010&filter=Regular+Season&highlight=
1- king nothing
2- howard
3- The truth
5- rondo
15- kobe bryant
16- chris paul
its all subective.....
