Re: POST GAME PHILLY GAME #3
I've been touting Scal as a potentially excellent coach since long ago in the BDC days—just based on his obvious knowledge of the game when he was on the floor. On defense, he could shut down guys who could outrun, outjump and outshoot him because one thing they could never do was to outthink him.
In his media gigs, I believe he's gradually learning what communicates to the listener. The first time I heard him, it was like listening to a basketball encyclopedia, which I would have welcomed to look up some of the technical terms he used.
Either as a coach or as a media color man, I think he has a great future.

Courtesy of redsarmy.com, as usual:
This is what a borderline psycho looks like just before he unleashes his fury
Now, the after picture of that psycho
Help!?
Going to the other side
Good interior defense by KG and Bass on Hawes
GREAT block by Bass on the much bigger Hawes
KG, over Brand and Hawes, from 3 feet. Note Brand's left hand on KG's jersey. I don't remember a foul being called on this play.
The "Flex"
Bass, using his speed advantage over Hawes
[img][/img]
Rondo, in attack mode
Pierce couldn't throw the ball in the ocean, Iggy didn't recognize that and came up to challenge a shot and Pierce just blew past him.
Doc complained, after game 2, how we didn't establish the low post. Well, that's what KG did all game in game 3. He can have this shot all day against Brand.
Good things happen when we run. Here, a quick outlet from KG to Rondo and we have a 3-on-2 with Ray running the wing for a layup. Textbook.
KG, using every inch
Rondo to Pietrus. Nice feel by Pietrus about the defense coming for him
Pierce with the 3, with Thaddeus Young face-guarding him
More good things happening when we run. I didn't like Bradley running to the corner. He should have run the wing towards the basket and forced the defenders to commit or foul by running it down their throats.
Easy points
The pressure to force the defense to commit (or freeze), and then the kick out pass.
