Interesting. Rondo had a great year, but he is only third team? Does that make him expendable? I thought he would be rated at least second team. Food for thought for Ainge?

Chris Paul is so overated, Rondo's defense slipped alot this year and still too many times opposing points play off him giving him that open 15-18 footer and he can't take advantage of that. Now that AB is injured Rondo's D is being exposed even more, so hes where he should be, but I don't agree with Paul being there either.....and I'd take KG over Love and Griffen anyday.

5 to 10 years ago, yes, you would pick KG.
This year, Love is head and shoulders above KG.

Hi,
All these 1st team, 2nd team, etc is a popularity contest.
As for KG vs Griffin and Love, even nowdays, I'd take KG on my team any time because Love has some general knowledge about defense, Griffin hasn't even heard about the concept.

Kind of funny that Rondo didn't get picked for the all star team until there was injury and then make All NBA. Wonder how many times that has happened. He did have a stellar second half the season though.

KG punked the shit out on him in their last matchup, making Love say he was no match for KG.....

and KG was 26 and right now he'll still destroy either one, one has no offense except a couple highlight dunks, the other has no defense and doesn't have length or mobility to create a shot on KG.

Now is running a lot closer to empty than full. For a couple of MEANINGFUL games I'd agree but over a season and seasons to come??? Give me the young legs.

So, you think Garnett has been a better player then Kevin Love this season and last season?

fact 1 the best defensive big in the game is recovering from back surgery

fact 2 the 3 best defensive bigs left standing are KG, Duncan, Perk/Ibaka

fact 3 I'd take KG still over the others left, hes still been nothing short of great defensively this whole run, he by himself mostly has been our interior defense, he will battle and battle and battle.....bad ass old man, and he'll curse you out too.

Fact Cow

He's 36! He isn't going to be around and effective to boot beyond a year or two at best.

I'm glad we have him but if by some strange twist if either Love or Griffin was offered straight up for him.... we'd be nuts not to take it.

36??? Who many years does he really have left in the tank?

beat if you want to win in the next year or two you'd be a fool to trade him, Kareem played till he was 41, Reggie Miller 39, so right now I still want to win and right now KG can still influence and put his stamp on the game better than those two. KG has 2 more years at this level, 3 if we can cut his minutes down to 26-28 during regular season ala Tim Duncan.

Again he's 36 and this season was tough on him 3 more at a KG level ain't happening IMHO, the trade isn't either so it's a mute point anyway.

Jabbar had how many serious knee surgery's? Miller?

KG rely's on his legs for lift.... what happened to the great leapers like Dr J and Nique when they could not jump anymore? Even Jordan for that matter? They went away quite quickly.

I just hope to heck he has 8 more wins in those legs, and I'll worry about the future in another month.

he can play on the defensive side of the ball near this level for a few more years, the offense will come and go.....you should be glad to go to war with him on your side.

Without getting into a debate about who's better than who, I thought all three teams looked about right.

I might be willing to at least debate Paul over Westbrook or Parker this year, but I think Paul has a completely legit claim to first team. He was an important part of a big step forward for the Clips.

I'm not sure about Carmelo Anthony being in there on 3rd team and I thought our old friend Tony Allen deserved at least a vote or two. Other than that, I agree with the picks.

buddy I think you got this list mixed up, Tony Allen? its an all-NBA first thru third team, not all Defensive, I agree with you on Carmelo, I'd go with Pierce.

Cow,

You got it...it was late and my mind started to wander!

Somewhere along the way I turned it into All Defensive, which is already a done deal.

I'd call it a "senior moment" but I've always been this way!
