Made $24 million over 21 years and now needs money.

Turned down an $80,000 a year job with the Celts in 2004 because he thought it was too low. Says "he needs a job with a substantial six-to-seven-figure salary."

Good luck finding that.

Tough article to read as I really loved him as a player.

I just got thru reading this story. Wish I had $24 million in my lifetime! However, this is a story that just doesn't get my sympathy, sounds as if there is alot of wishful thinking here. He painted himself in a corner years ago and now wants to come out. Too bad. I know it is a hard business but there are guys out there who you would never believe would get jobs today. Humility would help. You think that Maxwell didn't swallow alot when he tried to come back here? Red was still alive then, so if he wanted to stop it he could have.

This is a sad case because he probably has alot to add to some team.
