Draft Day Thread
Sorta like a Game On thread, except with Mr. Potato Head running the officiating crew.

Re: Draft Day Thread
Draft Day final prognostications:
draftexpress - Dennis Schroeder
mynbadraft.com - Shane Larkin
nbadraft.net - Schroeder
CBS Sports, Larry Parrish - Schroeder
Matt Moore hadn't updated his pick since 6/19, but he has Schroeder too.
SB Nation - Tony Mitchell
ESPN - Schroeder
NBA.com - Sergey Karasev (a new name! This guys a Russian gunner in the mold of Alexey Shved in Minny, except Karasev is a 6'7" SF). http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Sergey-Karasev-6118/
SI - Jamaal Franklin
RealGM - Shabazz Muhammed
Hoopshype - Schroeder
Hoopsworld - Larkin
The overwhelming consensus is that it'll be Dennis Schroeder, of Germany, with 6 out of 12 votes. That means it will be someone else.

Schroeder - what a joke of a pick. The wind will blow him away.

Hi,
If you put a gun to my head and make me to choose, I'd go with Dieng.

kenncelt,
That was my gut talk too, as you see from my last comment. If there's one consistency about Danny Ainge it is his unpredictability.

Re: Draft Day Thread
Final wish list;
Plumlee, Dieng or Withey if we go big.
Snell if we go for a wing.
********************
With this years draft, it looks like nearly anyone taking a big is drafting a player who will come off the bench for their career, perhaps excepting Len or Zeller and maybe Noel. Not looking like a lot of potential for starters minutes in this batch.
Although I think we need a big as a priority, Snell can play either wing spot and although we have a surplus of guards, he could be the big guard we don't currently have. He's got NBA starter potential at 2-guard if we're thinking of going in a non-Bradley sized direction. Muhammad would be good if we're talking purely small forward.
I like Adams a lot too, but I'm afraid he needs a lot of time and I'd hate to see us put two consecutive center picks in the D-League.

Dieng for sure.
Have the "prognosticators" already forgotten how abysmal this team's rebounding was?

Re: Draft Day Thread
It is hard to choose this year as there are so many moving pieces. They need a backup point guard. That would be my guess. The bigs that will be left either won't cut it or will be too much of a project. It will be fun to watch as it evolves. I hope we get lucky as that is how it can often work.

Re: Draft Day Thread
Never underestimate Danny's ability to surprise. Forget about last year's rebounding woes, that was a Doc strategy. It didn't work. The new coach won't make that mistake and young players will get a chance to prove themselves early. I like Dieng but it looks like DA may have already made a promise for his bu pg. Will we get a draft day surprise or will that come after Jul 1?

Cleveland picks Anthony Bennett
???
Now there's one I haven't seen mentioned.
Maybe Alex Len will get pushed down to #16?
That's a joke.

A 6'7" 239# Power Forward? With the #1 pick?
Oh, wait, I forgot, it's Cleveland.

That's going to change a few things.
Noel and Zeller may get taken a lot later than expected.

Could you imagine if Noel falls to 16 because of the questions about his knees?

I'm watching a live tweet feed from NOLA. They are positively drooling at the prospect of Alex Len dropping to them.
Alex Len and Anthony Davis? That's a frontcourt of the future.

The good news about Charlotte taking Zeller is that Byron Mullin might become available.

5. Suns take Len.
Smart move.
The Pelican front room is floored, they really wanted him.
