Cowens, I've only seen Rozier play on TV. I was very impressed.

I think the Lakers got a big-time steal in Upshaw. Especially since they passed on Okafor and Porzingis with the 2nd pick in the draft.

If Upshaw can keep his head on straight, I think they could make the playoffs this year.

But on the other hand, L.A. is the worst place in the world for recovering drug addicts. Any drug. Especially with money. Luckily for Upshaw, he'll probably be making minimum rookie salary, in the 6 figures I believe.

Still too much money for a rich, famous drug addict in Los Angeles.

That roster could self-destruct pretty easily though. Clarkson, Russell, and Randle all like to get as many shots as possible, and they'll all be expected by Kobe to defer to him.

I would hope that Upshaw hasn't/doesn't sign a real NBA contract with them yet. It would be great to outbid the Lakers for him after summer league.
One year, 1.5 million dollars, team option for second year.
I would not be surprised if the Lakers signed Upshaw to a contract with some guaranteed money right when the free agency moratorium ends, which is two days before the Lakers summer league starts.

Clarkson and Randle are not shoot first players. Clarkson had to shoot more because the Lakers had 7 season ending injuries.

Right now I'm really pissed Danny didn't take a little risk and take Upshaw at #45, especially with the weaklings we have there at his position. Time will tell what actually happens, which will eventually lead to hindsight, why do some think that is such a bad word? but they might have lucked into a real player.

Hindsight is a bad word if it leads one to lose serenity. If it brings wisdom, better decision making, and peace of mind, then it serves a good purpose.
