It will be interesting to see how this plays out next summer...This is why what Pop has accomplished in San Antonio is so special and hard.

Harrison Barnes has rejected the Golden State Warriors' initial extension offer of $64 over four seasons.

The Warriors were offering Barnes a deal worth $16 million per season.

Barnes will become a restricted free agent in the 2016 offseason if the two sides are unable to agree upon a deal by Oct. 31.

Barnes' annual offer is comparable to the one signed by Draymond Green.

Barnes' previous agent, Jeff Wechsler, had negotiated the current terms but he's now represented by Jeff Schwartz.

Hard to believe that a young man can turn down a guaranteed 16 M per year deal, but the best of luck to him trying to get more.

I have had some sort of job now for over 56 years and have never grossed more than 2.5 M in all of those years combined, so 4 years at 16 M per year sounds pretty good to this old boy.

This is one of the reasons' I've been saying al that "cap space" starting next year, is nothing but fools gold.

mid-level players will want and GET what used to be MAX deals

and MAX deals will be in the $22-25M range or HIGHER.

soon the average starter in the NBA will be close to $10M in yearly salary.

there won't be any teams with 2-3 max players on the same team, like some sports writers have assumed.
