Dwayne Wade agrees to sign with the Bulls
I wonder if Whiteside will regret resigning with no Wade, Deng and maybe Bosh.

He should change his name to Blindside.

Maybe he will pull a DeAndre Jordan and back out of his verbal agreement.

Re: Dwayne Wade agrees to sign with the Bulls
Riley pushed and Wade just pushed right back. Two things:
1. Did they really think he would never leave?
2. Did they want him to leave?
Many changes in the league, how will Rondo like playing second fiddle to Wade????

He won't care as long as they continue to keep track of assists.

I think we can now end the Jimmy Butler trade rumors.

Re: Dwayne Wade agrees to sign with the Bulls
I can't wait to hear Pat Riley explain this one. It was one thing to keep Wade on a yoyo string when Durant was in play but once that drama ended there was no need to keep that salary cap $ uncommitted.
This is the 2nd time in a week. Horford feeling dissed by Atlanta management was the first and now DWade. They need to get it through their heads: the players that everybody wants are in it for the money or the ring and not the team, city or fans. Play games with the money or gut the team and they will have no problem leaving to greener pastures.

I wonder if Rondo will forgive Wade for 2011.

gyso,
I was wondering the same thing. Might not pass him the ball?

This move could be good for the Celtics, in that the Heat are now more likely to match the Nets' offer to Tyler Johnson, leaving the Nets worse off.

Arambone,
Good thinking.
I wonder how it will make DWade feel when he realizes that when Riley had to choose between him and Tyler Johnson, Johnson won.
Couldn't happen to a nicer dick too.

Re: Dwayne Wade agrees to sign with the Bulls
The Heat were ready to move on without Wade. sometimes you agree to too many hometown discounts.
I expect that Bulls will be right in the mix for a playoff spot.
the threesome of Butler, Wade and Rondo is pretty solid.
I think this will be a good fit because Rondo will get both of them great shots.

Re: Dwayne Wade agrees to sign with the Bulls
Considering hometown discounts or not, I see this as a "I want big money so that I can still be compared to the other bigger stars in this league" move by Wade.
It is not a move for the money per se because he already has plenty enough money to live out about four lifetimes at any level of extravagance. It is about how he values his ego (not unlike many other professional athletes) as it is quite rare that guys go to play where they want for pennies on the dollar and are not worried about massaging their ego like the guy who signed with San Antonio last year for the league minimum.
In his mind, for him to be considered to be an equal of Kobe, LeBron, Curry, etc (the better big time players in his era) he "needs" to get paid like them. This move has nothing to do with "going home" or starting a dynasty in Chicago with the Bulls. All about ego and dollars.
As with all the other guys who have done this, I hope Wade falls flat on his face.

Re: Dwayne Wade agrees to sign with the Bulls
So, if this decision was made a week ago, Whiteside does not sign a contract and goes to Dallas. Dallas does not sign Bogurt and Barnes, Golden State is still stuck with their contracts and no room for Durant..............So he (Durant) comes to Boston so that he can get away from Westbrook.
I am not a big fan of Westbrook, please do not mention that Danny is considering going after him.

Re: Dwayne Wade agrees to sign with the Bulls
I am not privy to what any player is thinking so I cannot speculate about that but money is usually a good reason.
I do think that he made a good choice to move. He played very well last year but he will remain a big question because of his knees

Re: Dwayne Wade agrees to sign with the Bulls
A point that shouldn't be lost on anyone is that Wade is from Chicago, grew up a huge Bulls fan and Michael Jordan was his idol.
AND they offered him $7.5 million more than the Heat.
No brainer.

Rosalie,
Nice backtracking. As they say "timing is everything".
Of course it would have been absolutely crazy for Riley to say anything about his intentions with Wade before he locked up Whiteside.

Second thought: Technically, Whiteside hasn't signed anything yet, because that cannot happen until 7/10. He could pull a Jordan and change his mind. Go Danny!

Rosalie,
GS could have rescinded the qualified offer to Barnes and made him an unrestricted free agent.
As for Bogut, they could have waived him via the stretch provision or found a home for him from a team with cap space.
If Durant wanted to sign with GS, they could have found a way to make the numbers work.

Celtics would have taken Bogut if he came cheap. And he would have, with GS dying to move him.
