Trivia 10/22/09
Larry Bird was always quite the trash talker.
In the1985 East finals the C's led the Sixers 3-1 and were walking of the floor of the Spectrum when a Philly fan yelled to Bird, "see you Friday" ( for game 6 that was to be played back in Philly)
What was Bird's response?

Beat,
Congratulations on these trivia questions. That's a very creative way of maintaining interest levels and giving people something to look forward to even in the intervals between games. I'm not quite sure how you do it (although I bet that magic book of yours comes into play), but thanks for spending the necessary time and for spreading the pleasure.

Happened to be one that I remembered without any assistance.
I actually worked at the Garden selling food during HS (1984 to 1988) and got to see so many of Larry Bird's best games.
My favorite player however was and will always be, Kevin McHale. So smooth and deadly...he could have been the NBA scoring leader on any other team - but he choose to take a back seat to Larry and play in the team concept. And win championships.

Mool, I bet your job was great fun. What a great experience being in the Garden in any manner. I bet I bought some things from you. Kevin definitely did sacrifice in order to make the Celtics the team they were. I'm convinced had Kevin not had to play on a fractured foot/ankle and Bill Walton was healthy, number 17 would have been won in 1987. It's impressive that you rememberd Larry's comment without looking it up. I didn't have it quite right, however I like Beat's trivia idea.
Take care,
David
