Who's a Keeper? After Round 1
Playoffs are a different beast from the regular season. Some players wilt under the pressure and bright lights and some love it. Boston Celtic fans know it's all about #18 and the ONLY path to 18 is through the playoffs. It doesn't matter how great or shitty you were during the regular season, the team needs you to step up in the playoffs. It doesn't matter how many minutes you played during the regular season vs how many you play in the playoffs since that might just be match up driven. Amir and Jaylen hardly played at all this series because the matchups were not in their favor. Maybe against Washington that will change. If you step up when your number is called and help the team win playoff games you're a keeper and if you shrivel up and blow away you are not. You have to win 16 games and to win a championship and to do that you need players who know how to win those horse-of-a-different-color games.
So, who's stepping up and who isn't? Let's look at our roster, playoffs-to-date, and see who is a keeper and who isn't. Let's keep in mind this is after only 6 games, it was against the #8 seed and they had one key player out after game 2 and another limping worse by the minute. We wouldn't want anybody to put too much weight on our performance vs Atlanta last year since we were without Avery and Kelly was playing limited minutes with a shoulder that required off-season surgery.
Playoff rotation players only.
All stats courtesy of Basketball-Reference.com and are /36mpg except for Offensive and Defensive Ratings, which are /100 possessions. Stats don't tell the whole story. They don't tell you about ganas, they don't tell you about who is making the key play at the key moment, who made a momentum changer or back breaker, but they do reinforce your eyeballs and they also point out things that maybe your eyeballs are missing or over/undervaluing. For example, we look at Gerald Green and think he's playing a lot more, but he's actually only playing <6.5mpg more. Our eyes fool us a bit because he's starting. Also, we see someone throw away a pass or two, or blow a defensive rotation, and we pan them when an adjustment to the line up or defensive scheme fixes that and we don't see that anymore so we overvalue its impact because it only happened one or two times, so don't make such a big deal about it.

Every team is different. every series is different and every game is different.
I'm thinking that it is way too early to contemplate keepers.
Just my opinion.

If players don't up their game the end of the playoffs comes sooner than we'd like. Have to step up every series or you don't make it to the next series.
