Derrick Favors Anyone?
He'll make $12M this year, on an expiring contract. Could be a rental, but maybe we can do a sign-and-trade for Kelly? I like Kelly but if he isn't going to be in green then we need to replace him with a big and Favors is 6'10", 265# or so and is only 25 years old. What he lacks in Kelly's shooting range and court vision he will make up for in rebounding.
Favors suffered a bone bruise on his left knee in March, which significantly reduced his playing time. It is NOT a serious injury, did NOT require surgery, and will heal by itself with rest. Probably better already.
I'm a little concerned about our big situation. I know, I should calm down. I will be given plenty of notice that it's time to panic later, should it be needed.

Bob,
Not quite sure that a little panic time regarding our rebounding woes from last season should not already be on us.
Zizic could be the kid who changes it all, but asking a rookie to handle the majority of our rebounding issues is probably not fair to the guy at this early time of his career.
Rebounding is the one thing that I take serious issue with Coach Stevens and his staff as they have just not been able to do much in this area. You could say that they just don't have "any rebounders" and let it go at that, but Avery Bradley set a goal before last season to be a better rebounder and then proceeded to almost double his career RPG numbers almost throughout the course of the entire 2016-17 season.
If Bradley was able to add 3+ rebounds per game to his total we would not have a 'rebounding issue' if all the other starters could do as Bradley did. Of course, the bench guys needed to rebound better as well.
Perhaps, Ainge and Stevens should get Avery Bradley to become our rebounding coach as he obviously "has" something to share.

I'll pass.
Favors a 2010 3rd pick in the draft saw his minutes decline to 23 pg after he played in the low 30's during the previous 3 years
He is a good rebounder but a hideous 3 pt shooter. His PF skills do not lend themselves to the New NBA. If Boston does not want to keep KO it is because of the money so I do not see them spending in a sign and trade for Favors.
Boston still has enough options to address the rebounding deficiencies.
As you know I always judge the quality of players based on several factors but accurate shooting from deep is now a prerequisite.

Bob this is a new sissy era, you don't need to rebound to win, didn't we finish first in EC and how was our rebounding? I think Zizic will be fine handling the boards enough that were better this coming year and that's all we will need.

cow,
I think the word you are searching for is "soft". Perhaps we are experiencing the "Charmin" era.

He's probably better suited as a C in today's game. He can't fit next to Gobert in today's style of play. On the Cs, he could be a better fit as a C next to Horford and with better perimeter oriented 4s.

I would agree with that and I wonder if he even fits with what Brad wants in his bigs.
hard to fit his deal in here without sending out similar salaries anyway.
