Motivation for Isaiah Thomas

After finishing 5th in the MVP voting last year (with some of the best candidates in years competing) IT is projected to finish 9th this year.

Throw another chip from his shoulder onto the fire!

Harden and Paul are both ranked higher than IT?  How can that be?  Do they get to play with more than one basketball in Houston?

Additional motivation for Thomas will be (if he is still in Boston when the season begins) that he certainly knows that his name has been mentioned as a part of any trade with Cleveland for Irving.

I have little to no interest in IT being on the MVP list.

The Celtics have a much better, more diverse roster this year. For me, that translates into IT having a decrease in those sexy numbers that MVP voters look for. So I don't see this list being too far off. I'd absolutely put his chances behind Harden but ahead of Paul. IT will never win the MVP but the Celtics will win the only thing that truly matters. #18
