Spain - Germany 84:72

Spain advanced into the semifinal stage at 2017 EuroBasket. They saw off Germany in the quarterfinal clash tonight. Marc Gasol (216-C-85) scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to pace the winning side.
Germany got to a perfect start. They posted an 11:2 lead early in the game. Germany arrived at the first break up by 3 points 19:16. Spain surged ahead in the second term. They established a 34:33 halftime lead. Marc Gasol unloaded 16 points in the third quarter to help Spain open a 12-point lead heading into the final term. Spain kept Germany at safe distance throughout the fourth quarter and raced to the win. Pau Gasol (213-F/C-80) produced 19 points, while Sergio Rodriguez (191-PG-86) added 11 points and 7 assists for Spain. Dennis Schroeder (181-PG-93) replied with 27 points and 8 assists for Germany. Daniel Theis (204-PF-92) tossed in 15 points in the loss.

Spain was just too tough.  Pau AND Marc Gasol?  Sergio Rodriguez and Ricky Rubio? Both Hernangomez boys? On the German side there's Schroder and Theis, who hasn't yet actually played in an NBA game. The Spaniards are all seasoned NBA veterans.

Theis was 4-5 at the rim. With the Gasol boys protecting it, that's not too bad. The Hernangomez's are big kids too. Lots of size and beef on the Spanish squad and experienced play makers too.
