Anthony to the Thunder
NYK has agreed to trade Carmelo to the Thunder for Enes Kanter, Doug McDermott, and a draft pick.
OKC now with Westbrook, Roberson, Anthony, George and Adams as starters....not too bad.
I think Russ signs his deal very soon, and stays with OKC.

Re: Anthony to the Thunder
Didn't hear about the pick.
Regardless, this makes it even less likely that the Nyets will end up the 3rd worst record. The Knicks and Bulls are almost locks for the bottom two with the Pacers, Hawks and Magic in full-blown tank mode right behind them. With no incentive to tank the Nyets have every reason to win.
After the heat Danny got for trading away The Golden Egg to Cleveland in the Kyrie trade he might have been given a reprieve by James Dolan.

The New York Knicks have agreed to trade 10-time All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony to the Oklahoma City Thunder, league sources told ESPN on Saturday.
The Thunder will send center Enes Kanter, forward Doug McDermott and a 2018 second-round pick (via the Chicago Bulls) to New York, league sources said.

This one an irrelevant trade interms of the Knicks. They stink before and after.
Horrible mix of characters in OKC.
What's on the other channel?

They are dropping like flies. Gerald Green signed with Milwaukee, Perk back at Cleveland. Melo deal is interesting, how will he handle not being the main guy?

Good short term deal for OKC - good long term deal for the Knicks

Rosalie,
I'd vet Perk doesn't stick in Cleveland. Too many guaranteed contrscts already and now they have Zizic to back up Thompson

This reinforces my claim that the western conference is very strong, that's why the Lakers will not get out of the top 5 of the lottery.
How many times will the Lakers face OKC?
I'm sure every time the Lakers face OKC, it's a Laker loss.

Would have been before this trade too.

Still don't think we'll realize the lakers pick.
NYK, BKN, ATL, CHI, PHI ( I think anyway) and IND ....and ORL will all be horrible in the East, and PHO and SAC will be at least as bad in the West.

On the flip side, it is one more team that will be worse than the Lakers, making it less likely their pick is between 2 and 5 (I am assuming that OKC would have beaten the Lakers regardless of whether or not Melo signed).

Re: Anthony to the Thunder
Not that it matters much to me, but it is a big gain for the Knicks to finally get Anthony to another (any other) team so that they have a chance to rebuild without his ugly shadow and big contract hanging over their head.
What they got back does not seem to make them any better as their roster is now overloaded at the center spot (none of their big men are really able to play very far from the basket) and also now lacks some scoring on the wing.
For the Cs, Anthony going to OKC may help solidify an OKC sweep in the four games they play against the Lakers.
I never have been a big fan of anything Knicks, but may be able to tolerate them now that Jackson is gone home to fish in Montana.

Re: Anthony to the Thunder
This honestly felt more like making a trade simply for the sake of making one, not actually to improve. The Knicks get to officially begin their perpetual rebuild (again) with younger players and a 2nd round draft pick.
I don't see how this move helps OKC. It's like an assortment of party favors at a child's birthday that don't go together.

Re: Anthony to the Thunder
Michael Beasley is delusional.
https://sports.yahoo.com/mind-blowingly-knicks-michael-beasleys-team-now-glorious-132617742.html
"The Knicks could be a fifth or sixth seed."
"The Knicks have four guys that can score 25 points per game."
“I’m literally just Carmelo on the left side of the floor."
"I still think I have a chance to be one of the best in the NBA."
“I plan to play at least until I’m 43."

Re: Anthony to the Thunder
Very funny. Sure he plans on playing until he's 43. He has missed how many games and sat at the end of the bench how long.
I will say he was impressive at the end of last year. He still can shoot but........43?????

Re: Anthony to the Thunder
After seeing the Beasley comments, there must be something in the water in Madison Square Garden's locker room because Derrick Rose, just prior to last season's dismal 31-51 lottery campaign, hysterically said this about the Knicks: "They’re saying us and Golden State are the super teams."

he still has that far away look in his eyes! Imagine what he could have been if he just played it straight and used his talent to help his teammates.. Everyone will be fighting to take over Melo's role as total ballhandler or should I say, ballhog

The OKC makeover will get a lot of attention.
Will their big three play well together in the sandbox?
Who plays PF? George or Melo? Maybe George plays at the 2 and Melo stays at SF

PG will probably flex between the 2 and the 3, and I'm betting Melo will be the PF. He's big enough by today's standards, especially if the Warriors can get away with 6'7" Draymond at the 5.
