Memphis is asking for a pick for Evans.I would give our 2018 pick for Evans ,even is he is a rental?

International. This is very intriguing. Evans has played very well all year and does a lot of good things. Scoring, passing and rebounding. He is a free agent this year and will be coming off of a $3.29 Million dollar salary.
Our 2018 pick will be at or near the bottom of the first round. I could see the Celtics parting with the pick but not just for a 4 month rental. If Boston cannot see their way to resigning Marcus Smart , Evans could be a lower cost option. In other words i think Boston would want to keep the option open to resign him.
So my answer is yes because he would fill a need by providing another ball handler, scoring and defender off the bench. But what about more depth up front? Can Boston do two deals and set the world on fire?

International,
He is an Unrestricted Free Agent after this season. That qualifies him for the DPE. Would I give up a first round pick for him? No. He will be bought out, in my opinion. If Memphis is willing to trade him for salary relief (the Disabled Player Exemption) then I would do it. He isn't the best defender but he can score in bunches. He's also 6'5" with a 6'11+" wingspan.
Personally I'd like to see Nader get some minutes and see what he can give us before going for a ME-baller like Evans, but...

No and agree with Bob.
Evans is a player who can single handedly kill ball movement and has been known to be a disgruntled guy who is a poor locker room presence. Would much rather see Rozier, Smart, Semi, Larkin get those shots than Evans.

Bob I do not think that Memphis is looking for DPE money. They may be heading into a rebuild depending on what they do with Gasol. They are looking for draft picks.
I do not consider him a Me-baller. This year he has averaged 19.7 PPG, 5.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists. My main concern would be that he is injury prone.
Nadar is unlikely to play any significant minutes this year unless we have an injury to one of our guards/wings.
The Wizards are apparently in the mix because they are looking to sure up their rotation. The Celtics need to do the same thing if they want to get out of the East.
In essence, Evans seems like an option but there are others as well.

I agree that we need another big,but we can get both.I think that if we are in a series with a team like the Wizards for example,a proven and consistent scorer from the beach will be needed.Versatility is needed for the playoff too and Evans has it and can play 3 positions. If the Wizards get Evans and we have to face a backcourt of Wall,Beal and Evans,we are going to be in serious problems.

International the Celtics are a very significant team and they have a realistic chance to win. The Wizards are a tough out. If they added Evans they would be even harder to beat.
As the trading deadline approaches teams that are looking to upgrade for a playoff run will factor into what the Celtics are able to add.
I think Danny will make the right decision but we should understand that he will not compromise the future of the team he has built.

No first rounder for Evans, but a second rounder (or, perhaps two) and Yabusele might work for me.
