NBA says Marcus Morris travelled before game-winning three
WEEI Alex Reimer
The Celtics’ 100-99 win over the Thunder was one of the most exciting victories of the season. Too bad the NBA says it shouldn’t have counted.
The league’s last two-minute report from Tuesday says Marcus Morris should have been called for a five-second violation before the final inbounds pass. On top of that, the officiating report says Morris traveled before hitting the game-winning three.
The alleged travel is tough to pick out on replay. Morris dribbles before legally taking one step to his right. It does not look like there were any additional movies. There are far more egregious examples of traveling that don’t get called on seemingly a nightly basis.
Also, none of this would be relevant if Carmelo Anthony and Russell Westbrook hit their free throws.

Probably not the very first miss of an NBA player traveling with the ball. Does it happen 40-50 times per game?

We won on a missed call. We've lost on missed calls. They balance out.

Ah those instant replays - just adds more calls for fans to wine about.

Your allowed one step, that’s all he took as he shuffled to his right....was not a travel.

The 2 minute report is intended to highlight mistakes and, by omission, good non-calls by the officials when every possession is critical. However, as Brad often preaches, a possession in the 2nd quarter is just as precious as one in the 4th.
Monroe was getting mugged in the low post all night by Carmelo and whistles weren't blowing. You LOOK at Harden hard, he bobs his head, and he goes to the line.

Here it is, called by Sean Grande and Max:
I see no travel. Not even close to one.
I did get a kick listening to Max go crazy. His blood is as green as Tommy's, and that's saying a lot. "Somebody shut yo'mouth! You cannot kill this team unless you stab them in the heart, burn'em and then have the sun rise on their dead cold body!". Tell'em, Max, you tell'em...

Kind of tiring hearing everyone saying that this game was not won by the Celtics but lost by OKC.
They came into this game cocky as hell, thinking it was a gimme.
Well, to their surprise, in the end, they lost this game and it serves them right. Instead of congratulating guys like Morris, Tatum, Larkin and Rozier and the rest of the guys, we were supposed to feel sorry for OKC. Well, I don't. They had alot more on the line than the Celtics, yet they didn't play that way. Paul George had a terrific first half, Westbrook scored his points, but in the end they didn't make the extra effort it would have taken to win.
No pity here. Just CONGRATULATIONS TO THE GUYS IN GREEN.
