Then you can go after a top level free agent.

that could be an option, but I doubt it is one for Danny.

https://www.celticsblog.com/2018/4/29/17298738/get-ready-for-a-rozier-trade

I think the trade these guys came up with silly myself. But I do think this WILL be the story of our off-season....IF we trade Rozier and to who.

Maybe If GS sweeps NO, they may be willing to think about adding Hayward and Rozier for The Brow?

Shocked

a more realistic scenario would be something like Rozier, #27 this year and Memphis or LAC future first to Orlando for #5 and #35 picks.

I would only do that deal if Jaren Jackson or Bamba is still on the board at @5 though AND we resign Smart of course

Rosalie, you are right. Keeping Terry on the squad next year improves our shot at #18. Long term? Well that's Danny's problem to figure out.

Brad deserves enormous credit for starting Semi. And Al has been a Godsend. But who really deserves credit also? Danny. Who went shop for the groceries Brad used to prepare this sumptuous feast. What a team. What an organization. What a fanbase. What a tradition!

Getting Giannis into foul trouble early was huge. He was never able to maintain any sustainable rhythm.

He looked out of it almost from the beginning. Nerves? I doubt it but he is a young guy with the weight of the world on his shoulders. His biggest helper was Middleton who was a stud the whole series. After the game had gone ten plus minutes, somehow I just was not worried about Giannis killing us, he did not have the "eye of the tiger".

He will be back, more mature, smarter and ready to take on the league. He is a wonderful talent.

But,,,,,,,God bless Semi

So great that another elite defender emerged this series, Semi, another force with Jaylen and Smart to throw at the Simmons and Giannis’s of the world. I see Semi only getting better on offense and being another multi position defensive force....plus we have Baynes and Horford to man the 5. We need a 5, but are not desperate, we can win the Warrior way. Way to find more usage in Semi Brad, that’s why he’s the coach and we’re the grateful fans....hope Jaylen is right by Thursday, I’d keep him out of Monday’s game.

Great game by Semi.  His defense on the freak was really impressive.

Al, Rozier and Tatum carried the scoring.  Much needed contributions from Morris, Baynes, Larkin and of course Marcus Smart.

Jaylen is likely out for game one so it will take another strong effort by everyone.

on Semi, he’s like 6’7” and was our best defender on Giannis easily, better than anyone would have thought before the series. Gives hope that the 6’6” PF’s from the 70’s like Gus Johnson and Dave Debusshere could have competed with some of these taller 4’s of today or recent history, especially if they had all of today’s training, etc. Semi is a strong and determined dude already as a rookie, he can take those hits and keep pressing, willing his force on you. Geez this team is gonna have so much talent coming back. If Theis doesn’t get hurt, Semi probably gets as much playing time as Yabu and we would have never known how good/great a defender he really is and we’ll have both of them next year at the 4.

I think Brad definitely knew what kind of defender Semi is but couldn’t find the minutes for him. I did notice that anytime during the entire season, Brad had a chance to insert Semi, even in short minutes he did.
Opportunity and he didn’t disappoint

Semi has earned playing time moving into the next round.  His shooting woes will diminish over time, hopefully.  He was a scorer in college, he just needs to have the game slow down a bit in his mind.  Playing time this year in the playoffs will pay off big time in the future.

Barkley's diet includes many helpings of crow.  He said, "Milwaukee needs to do this, Milwaukee needs to do that, yak, yak, yak."  He is totally blind when it comes to his thoughts and acknowledgment of the Celtics.  I hope he learned something over the past couple of weeks.

gyso

And as for the other dummy on the other side of the set, Shaq, he said if Bledsoe scores 20 the Yucks would win by 5. Dumb and Dumber!

To echo Cowens/OldSchool, The emergence of Semi gives us a chance in Philly, even with Jaylen dinged up for a game or two. Semi already has the strength and footwork to be great at both ends; in time, I think the shot will come. Rosier and Smart are going to be expensive. Saw here somewhere the suggestion that Irving (my favorite) could be traded for a big like Davis while keeping our other guards. Another 4-12 or more games and we'll know more, but this year's team is so talented, I don't think it's out of the question. Hawk

The Bonners come from Concord NH, which was where I am originally from (0-17 years).  My Mom still lives there.  She and my Dad were huge fans of Matt Bonner.  They followed his career from Concord High School (3x state champs) to Florida, then to the Spurs.

The fact that the Bonner family is from New Hampshire explains their lifelong Celtics fandom.

I’d put the breaks on that. Davis is playing with 2 pretty damn good guards right now and they’ve gone as far as theyre going to go.

I have no idea where some of these ideas come from. Here they give Kyrie the Red Auerbach award the other night, tell me they want this guy to feel like this is where he wants to play and stay.

I watched a pod cast on some stupid channel stating that Kyrie would be traded to Minny, Hayward to Brooklyn, and Al some other god forsaken place. It is reaching ridiculous proportions. Stupidity at it's highest form.

Let's just enjoy the rest of the playoffs. I am already ready for camp next fall!!!! I cannot wait to watch these guys mold together. Time for me to shut up...

Earlier in the season Brad only had one player he felt could guard Simmons, and that was Horford.  After seeing Semi do a great job keeping another poor-shooter-but-excellent-ball handler out of the paint and forced into taking jump shots outside his comfort zone I wouldn't be surprised to see him try that experiment again. That would free Al up to defend Embiid, or even Saric.

I also agree.  Semi on Simmons may work.  Simmons will get looks from several guys including Al and Morris.  He is the head of their spear.  Unlike the Freak, Simmons is jumperless so you can give him a little space and play him to drive.

After boasting that the Bucks would win Barkley mumbled through his opportunity to explan what happened.  Barkley and Shaq always seem to go against Boston especially Barkley.

Nice to see no confetti.  Was boorish of Milwaukee to use a confetti celebration for anything other than the winning game of THE CHAMPIONSHIP.

That wasn't confetti, that was their hopes raining down on their heads.  They just didn't get the accompanying memo until Saturday evening.

Right all these teams that plan these celebrations for any game other than a final game Finals win are a bunch of amateurs

They will never learn. Years ago it was balloons that never came down after the Lakers lost to the Celtics.

These teams have it all planned that the Celtics are going to roll over and die so they can celebrate. I can only hope that Brad comes up with a game plan that will shut Enblid up. He thinks he is funny running down the court pointing after he makes a shot. Time to shut the big boy up'.

This is going to be a tough series on the Celtics. I can only hope Morris finally comes alive in this series.0

Like Milwaukee Bucks, the forwards are going to have to collapse on Enblid as they did in game 7 with the Greek and double team him, box out for rebounds and be PHYSICAL!

Shaq virtually always picks Boston. Not sure if it's because of his short stint being part of the Celtics which he has often said he really enjoyed and wished he'd played better. It's Barkley that always picks against them.

Baines has had success defending Embiid. He’ll start. Horford will take on Simmons at least to begin with. Semi will return to the bench for game 1, but he’ll be guarding Simmons a lot too.

At least that’s how I see it.
