What if Danny became a Hare Krishna?
...and quit basketball. Who would we want to replace him? Danny's only 59, and I'm sure he plans to be around a long time, perhaps long enough to pass the reins on to his son. But if for some reason the Ainge family walked away from managing the Celts - and believe me, I don't think anyone could do a better job - who would we want to replace him?
I'd vote for David Griffin, a very astute analyst of all things basketball and partly the architect of Cleveland's semi-dynasty, in that he was partly responsible for getting LeBron to come back.
One point David raised today on Sirius XM was that the Celts erred by not sticking with their hot hand, Jayson Tatum, Sunday night even after he had dunked on LeBron and then sank a three pointer. Thereafter the Celts went to Jaylen, Terry, and Smart who were cold as ice and denied Jayson more touches in the crucial final minutes. Why?
Brad is all about sharing the ball and giving everyone touches, but in crunch time, GIVE THE BALL TO THE GUY WHO HAS BEEN CONSISTENT AT GETTING IT IN THE BASKET. RIDE THE THOROUGHBRED ACROSS THE FINISH LINE. Griffin's viewpoint, and mine too. Probably Danny's too. Oh well, spilt milk. No use crying over it.

Re: What if Danny became a Hare Krishna?
Once Kyrie was shut down for the season it became a case of go-to guy by committee.
The game 7 meltdown by both Brown and Rozier may have reflected a lack of recognition on their part that Tatum in fact is their ultimate go-to guy in absence of Kyrie.
Three young talented player but Tatum is the alpha dog. Keep shooting until the ball goes through the basket is an ego trip.
Let's hope that they learned a lesson. Scoring the ball yourself is far less important than accepting who should get to score and helping a teammate do that.

kdp, He probably won't, but wouldn't it be something to see him in saffron robes playing a tambourine at Logan airport?
