Another Example Of Business First
Kevin Love won't face suspension for entering court at end of Game 1
http://tv5.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/23670561/kevin-love-cleveland-cavaliers-face-suspension-entering-court-end-game-1
The rule clearly states that once you leave the bench when a fight breaks out, you're automatically suspended.
Not surprising to me because I have long accepted the NBA as a business first and a sport second.
Michael Jordan pushing Bryon Russell, to get a shot off, in Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals made it clear to me that superstars get special treatment in the NBA.
It's not a coincidence that every year you see multiple star players in the Finals.
The NBA is a league of stars.

Re: Another Example Of Business First
they didn't hesitate on suspending Dramond Green a couple of years ago against OKC. This has nothing to do with rules, it is "they did not want the Cav's to be shorthanded" with the loss of Love. Farce

Re: Another Example Of Business First
They also only fined Tristan Thompson $25K and reduced his flagrant 2 to a flagrant 1.
He clearly shoved the ball in Green's face and then shoved his hand, maybe not quite a fist, into Green's face.
The league is learning. The shorter playoffs last year snipped a few million dollars off the salary cap, that's why Danny had to move Avery Bradley, he got surprised by the lower cap. Neither they, nor the NBPA, want that to happen again. Therefore, despite clear evidence supporting suspensions, the Cleveland Cavaliers will not be down 2 key players.
The question is "if/when a Dub does something stupid will the league give them a pass too?"

Re: Another Example Of Business First
Best candidate for a Gdub suspension would be of course Green. He is out of control most of the time and has the best chance of doing something really stupid. Should have had at least 2 techs in game 1 and I am not even counting the one where he clearly called the ref a F’ing” Pussy!bobheckler wrote:They also only fined Tristan Thompson $25K and reduced his flagrant 2 to a flagrant 1.

Re: Another Example Of Business First
shouldn't have been any flagrant on Thompson on that end of game shot.only a foul call
he didn't throw out the elbow to hit Livingtson and didn't hit him near the head or face anyway..
much to do about nothing to me.
I'm tired of GS and find them as "thugish" as any team in the NBA myself.
I hope LeBron can somehow take them down and stay at Cleveland next year so we can beat him fair and square.

After the muggings put on the Cs by the Cavs, I could care less what happens to the Cavaliers physically. James should have fouled out of each of the seven games against Boston just on offensive fouls when knocking guys out of the way when backing in.

Makes no difference if you dont agree with the ejection or even if they rescind it after the fact. Thompson was thrown out of the game and AFTER THAT, started a fight with Green. That should be an immediate suspension - no questions asked. The fact that it wasnt is what makes people dislike the NBA.
Lack of consistent enforcement of the rules = people questioning games being fixed/swayed toward money vs integrity.

Celts were also the beneficiary of KG not getting suspended after Game 5 in the 1st round against the Hawks in 2008.
It was clear from the video replay that KG intentionally elbowed Pachulia in Game 5 of that 1st round series.
Some here wonder why I want Kawhi.
Clearly the NBA is a league of superstars.
The more stars you have, the more chances of winning.

If you were playing Pachulia, wouldn't you want to elbow him. He is one dirty ballplayer. That was then, this is now.
Keep wishing, Kwahi is going no where

I wish The Purge would became real instead of just a movie. If it ever became law for 12 hours the first person I’d go after is Zsa Zsa. I hate that guy More than any one who ever played in the NBA. Dirty Mofo!!! Ewww i hate him so bad!!!!
