Terry Rozier Reveals Which Player Held Celtics Together Amid Injuries

Terry Rozier was asked Monday on ESPN’s “Get Up!” which player or coach held the Boston Celtics together this season as they battled adversity, namely in the form of injuries. The Celtics guard wasted no time in responding. “Easy. It was Al Horford,” Rozier said. “He’s been great to us all year, and obviously when those guys went down (Gordon Hayward, Kyrie Irving, Daniel Theis, Marcus Smart), he definitely stepped in and played a bigger role.”
This should come as no surprise, as Horford’s leadership has been lauded since the big man signed with Boston in the summer of 2016. But he certainly silenced a lot of critics this past season, and it’s hard to imagine the Celtics would have advanced as far as they did in the NBA playoffs without the stability Horford consistently provided both on and off the floor.

Probably not worth a new topic, but as far as I am concerned, Al still deserves more accolades

On a team with a lot of young athletic talented defenders, his defense throughout the playoffs was phenomenal.

Nice recognition of Al Horford and some of his many contributions to this year's team by one of its younger, quality players.
Excellent season all around for Horford, in my opinion, as he certainly played much better than he did in his first year in Boston. Improved stats almost all the way around and far fewer games that he did very little in which was big problem in his first Cs season.
His play this year gives me much more hope that he is not heading downhill so fast that he will not continue to make similar contributions in the second two years of his original four year contract at max money. His performance last year made many people think (me for sure) that he was way over paid for what he performed.
My Friday morning Cs breakfast group often wondered why he had such an improved second season in Boston when compared to his first year when he was one year younger.

Al has been so super for this team, it is so aggravating to hear those who do not understand basketball or think they are genius's to criticize him. He does so much on the floor, on the bench, in the locker room and everywhere else, he is so important to the club. I believe the coach and Ainge know how important he is to this club.
