Signing Bird seems to indicate that the Cs are happy with the depth on the front line positions. Could that mean that they may be expecting Williams to be able to help more than most fans were thinking.

I like Bird and he may get more opportunities than most 15th spot players with Irving and Hayward trying to return from injuries, but good performances by rookies does not always turn into effective NBA readiness.

If Bird can work on his ball handling and use his superior athletic talent on the defensive end, he is a certain upgrade on Larkin.
