This is a great honor. Well deserved.

1st team all defense is an elite designation.

He should of been recognized long ago.
Marcus was for me the one consistent bright spot of a miserable season.

As we congratulate Marcus for making 1st team all defensive, it also increases his trade value.

That is the downside of this IMO because I believe that Danny would need his salary to make the AD trade work. I am also under an assumption that Danny will not trade both Tatum and Brown. I think that would be a deal breaker. Also assuming that he moves # 14 and # 20 this draft and the Memphis pick next year or 2021. Those 2 1st rounders are worth a combined $5,000,000 for salary matching purposes for this year.

They need to get close to $25.4 million.

The Celtics remain in a favorable position to trade for AD because they have more 1st rounders to offer and I think it will take 3 to get the deal done.

I see Danny moving Marcus Smart and Jayson Tatum plus picks 14 and 20 which gives them 24.8 million and then maybe they move Dozier (RFA) or Wannamaker (QA) to complete the deal

Depending on what they can get in the draft and who to spend MLE money on, the challenge for Boston will be filling out the bench with some scoring and a BU PG would be #1 need, Stretch 4 #2 and wing #3.
