It appears Jayson Tatum will get the chance to play with Anthony Davis.
No, you didn't miss a blockbuster trade. The Boston Celtics forward is in the group of players expected to join USA Basketball for its training camp in August ahead of the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup in China, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Wednesday.
Here's the list of players planning to play for Team USA, per Wojnarowski and the New York Times' Marc Stein:
- James Harden, Houston Rockets
- Anthony Davis, New Orleans Pelicans
- Kemba Walker, Charlotte Hornets
- Donovan Mitchell, Utah Jazz
- Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards
- Eric Gordon, Rockets
- Kyle Kuzma, Los Angeles Lakers
- Damian Lillard, Portland Trail Blazers
- Brook Lopez, Milwaukee Bucks
- Kevin Love, Cleveland Cavaliers
- CJ McCollum, Blazers
- Jayson Tatum, Celtics
The 2019 FIBA World Cup kicks off August 31 in China, with training camp starting earlier in the month in Las Vegas.
This list obviously doesn't include A-listers and previous Team USA members like LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, who were on the squad that won gold at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.
The FIBA World Cup isn't the Olympics, but it still should give Tatum, the lone Celtics representative, some valuable experience on the international stage playing along NBA stars.
Whether Tatum will be on the Celtics in August isn't 100 percent clear, as the 21-year-old has been floated as a possible trade chip in an Anthony Davis blockbuster.

Darren Hartwell is obviously not an A-list sports writer.

I think there may be a few folks who misunderstood what was written.
Hartwell did not say that Davis, Harden and Lillard were not A-list players.
He simply mentioned a few A-list types that were not included.
2 points off your term papers for poor comprehension.
