It seems that Kyrie Irving is dead-set on leaving the Boston Celtics in free agency and at this point, Celtics fans appear to be okay with that.
And after hearing this story, their feelings toward Irving's departure will likely become stronger.
In a recent piece by ESPN's Jackie MacMullan, she outlined a bizarre story about Irving refusing to sign balls that the team was planning on donating to their charitable partners.
At the completion of the regular season, the team set up 100 balls in a room for their charitable partners. Everyone signed the balls except Irving. When pressed to do it, say team sources, he was neither aggressive nor confrontational. He merely said, "No, I'm not interested in that."
There have been a couple of strange stories that have come out around Irving, including one about an odd question he posed to Brad Stevens about the word government and his days as a flat-earther (although he may have just been trolling at the time). So, this seemingly fits his nature as a mercurial star who does his own thing.
Of course, that doesn't excuse Irving choosing not to sign the balls for charity. And it certainly isn't a good look for him.
This was just one of many anecdotes about the Celtics' disappointing season that was featured in MacMullan's story.
