Predicting The Celtics 2019-20 Regular Season Win Total

How many wins will we see?

It will take some time for Brad to gather enough credible analytical information and even with that in hand it will take some time for the guys to get used to playing together.

Brad in the past has done a fantastic job in similar situations.  I think 49-54 is probably optimistic but if all things go well I think they can reach that win total.

This team will look very different from last year mainly because we do not have bigs (centers) that can stretch the floor.  However we should still be an above average 3 point shooting team because of our post offense and we have enough shooters to compliment our inside scoring.  If Kanter can draw in the defense and has the ability to kick the ball out to open shooters opportunities will still be there.

I think a more committed emphasis on setting and using screens should also open up shots for Boston.  Kemba is unlikely to freestyle as much as Kyrie.  

I think we will be a top 10 rebounding and PITP team.  I also think we get more FT attempts than last year.  And if Kanter, along with VP and RW can dominate the defensive glass, our wings and guards can release sooner for more transition opportunities.

The single biggest unknown for me is how well our two new centers and 2nd year man Robert Williams plays defense.

Kj I figure .500 on the road and 30 wins in the Garden.

That gets you a very solid 51 wins.  The EC is going to be very competitive but I think our boys will compete and win.

We will figure out if they have a special blend.  Everything for me begins on the defensive side of the ball.  Do that well and buckets on the other end are there for the asking.

I must admit some apprehension because I do not know how good our frontline will be but I have a gut feeling they will not disappoint.
