Only two All-Stars will hit the market this offseason in what looks like one of the weakest free agent classes (on paper) we have seen in a while.
We have ranked the main free agents anyway, though.
1

A two-way force and one of the very best big men the game has to offer, he has proven this year that he can be a top option on a legitimate title contender.

Re: Free agent Rankings (including those with options)
This one puzzles me. How is Moore an absolute marksman shooting 37.5% from three and 42.3% overall?
E'Twaun Moore / SG / New Orleans
E'Twaun Moore, New Orleans Pelicans
Major threat from the outside. Absolute marksman from three-point range. Gives up a lot defensively. Effort isn’t bad, but size and athletic limitations make him an average defender.
2019/20 stats: 8.6 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.4 apg, 42.4 FG%, 37.5 3P%
2019/20 earnings: $8,664,928
Career earnings: $38,803,676
Agent: Mark Bartelstein+
I'd like us to sign Serge Ibaka.
I was somehow pleased to see that I earned more than one NBA player, Tacko Fall, who pulled in only $77k. However, he's marketing his own goods and is probably making al lot more than that.

Re: Free agent Rankings (including those with options)
Ibaka is likely out of our price range.
Remember anything more than the MLE (mid level exception) which I think for taxpayer teams (thats the Celtic next season) is around $6M next year , TBD.
I just found this link, which may limit what Ainge can do in a sign and trade also
https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2019/03/hoops-rumors-glossary-sign-and-trades.html
the key part:
A team acquiring a player via sign-and-trade cannot be over the tax apron after the deal, and can’t have used the taxpayer mid-level exception.
this season the tax level was around $132M
the tax APRON was just shy of $139M
the Celtics currently have over $142M in salaries on the books without any cap holds for Wanamaker and the first round picks.
so we are likely well over next season tax line and maybe even over the tax apron , unless Ainge can ditch a big salary somewhere.
I am unclear if the Celtics can do a sign and trade if they are over the tax apron after the trade , gyso??

Re: Free agent Rankings (including those with options)
This list, and the price associated tags, may point out that the route to an upgrade needs to be through the draft again.
If that turns out to be the case, the pressure is on to use those first rounders wisely. That means finding NBA ready players. Possible at #14, much harder later in the round. Packaging and trading up could be a good route if a trading partner can be found.
