Playoff Observations
What an underwhelming performance by Giannis, he got gifts from the refs and still blew so many chances to clinch game....Jimmy Butler blew by him to send game into OT, he 3 times missed FT’s that could have clinched it.

As long as they beat BKN, they'll figure MIA out. He did brick some free throws again at the end and got caught with the 10-second rule. Now that was hilarious.

Carmelo Anthony has really re-created himself, a great sub off the bench, he gives Blazers a good jolt, instant offense and is shooting 40% from 3.

Wizards actually have 3 above avg defensive 5’s in Len, Lopez and Gafford, they will go hard at Embid. Anything is possible, would love to see an upset. In this 3 ball era, you still need bigs, don’t forget that.

Watching Gafford right now, he’s also super athletic, does a lot of the things RWill does well.

Knicks and Hawks with an awesome first game. Hawks win as Young hits a floater with less than a second left.
Great to see a large, raucous crowd at Madison Square Garden!!!

When the Hawks made the draft day trade with the Mavs I thought that it was a huge mistake. It doesn't look so huge now as Young has his team in the playoffs. Luka is still the better player because of his size that enhances his rebounding ability. In terms of playmaking and scoring Trae Young is right up there with Luka. This was a fantastic win on the road for the Hawks.
Luka also led his team to a big road win against the Clips.
This has been a great start to the playoffs with Memphis winning on the road vs #1 seed Utah and the Suns making the Lakers look vulnerable.

Utah is still without Donavon Mitchell, but supposedly he can comeback. Chris Paul showed a lot of ganas playing thru that injury and DeAndre Ayton had a coming out party. Lebron looks alot slower, we will see if he can get his legs back.

Yahoo Sports has already decided who is moving on to the next round. After just one game.

Donovan was apparently incensed that he was held out of the game Sunday. Utah should win this series but Memphis falls into a list of several young teams that are making their first playoff appearance and are playing well.

Bucks shoot 10-15 from the three point line…….in the 1st quarter while putting up 46 points.
Now that’s a heck of a 1st quarter Jasper!

The Bucks going off from 3, all teams wish they could bottle these kind of performances. Giannis killing Butler in their match up.

Imagine if Danny Ray could’ve swung that deal for Holiday and sent your boy, Kunte packing.

Re: Playoff Observations
Here's the deal. Not counting chickens but the next round East series will feature MIL vs. BKN. Here is why I can state with great confidence that the Bucks will prevail and probably big.
The Bucks are playing like they are finally possessed. BKN will not stand a chance. The only difference between those two teams is the Bucks play just a little more defense. Well, anyone plays a lot more defense than BKN. And defense will get MIL to the ECF. Then we'll have the showdown everyone wants, PHI vs. MIL.
If by some strange twist of fate (Giannis injury, etc.) MIL does lose the next round, it WILL be house cleaning time there. Coach Bud, GM, team, everybody. Giannis will probably be on the block as well. MIL will disappear and retire off into Bolivia, as Mike Tyson once said. They will go back to being the doormat of the NBA sans the Sidney Moncrief years.

Bucks will kill Nets on the glass, at some point the Nets 4-5 will be exposed on defense. Giannis-Durant match up should be fascinating, Giannis has to go on attack mode and wear out skinny Durant.

Was thinking the same thing. They were rumors but a KW swap would have been interesting. I hope KW plays well in whatever number of games remain. My thinking is he will be back next season but the following season his expiring contract may attract a team.Ktron wrote:dboss wrote:The Bucks may be a better team this year. The Holiday factor!

Danny set this team back at least two years with his decision to overpay for Kemba.

The Bucks have assembled an excellent team around Giannis. Them along with the Nets and Sixers are very impressive teams. The Bucks are balanced at both ends as is Philly while the Nets are devoid of defense.cowens/oldschool wrote:Bucks will kill Nets on the glass, at some point the Nets 4-5 will be exposed on defense. Re: Playoff Observations
Dallas up 2-0 on the Clippers. Possible fire sale in La-La Land this offseason if the #4 Clippers get swept by the #5 Mavericks? We're down 0-2 the Nets, but both of our losses were on the road against an obviously superior team. Both of Ty Lue's losses were at home to a team that had a worst regular season record. The Clippers had 47 wins and the Mavs only had 42. That's not a game or a tiebreaker's worth of difference, that's a big gap between 4 and 5.
