Well, the reserves certainly got some run, although I'd have preferred seeing a couple more vets in there to give the kids a more representative and stable core to play with. There were certainly some nice offensive indications such as Harangody finally getting into a bit of a rhythm. Defense, especially down the stretch, was another matter, which leads me to ask who's responsible for devising and establishing the Celtics' defensive plan. As I understand it, Frank is assigned the task of producing a scouting report for every game, which doesn't sound like a defensive coordinator's job.

I guess one important question is whether Wafer showed enough in his team-leading minutes to improve his case versus either Harangody or Lasme. I like the basketball savvy and winning attitudes those two guys seem to have. For those who have been waiting to see Lasme guarding smaller guys, he was on Iguodala for a considerable time and did very well. I had Iggy at two points and one shot blocked by Lasme.

Dave Cowens will be joining Tangway and Donny for commentary tonight (Wednesday). Is he no longer with Detroit?

Anyone notice that now both Lebron and Wade have hobbled hammies?

Anyway, have fun with this post-game thread.

I wanted vets to get a rest as we have a game tonite,loved watching all these new players finally,Lasme showed me enough he can play the 3 defensively and how many backup 3's can block shots like him?He can sky from the weak side and stay in his mans face.Can't believe he never latched on to another team,hes gonna help us,guy can make an impact defending and boarding and flies down the floor.For a guy out of shape,Bradley showed he can defend,in your face harassingly well,I like him.Quis has improved his outside shot,no hesitation,if Rondo could improve his shot like that we'll be unbeatable.Nate is a completely different player,like night and day,knows how to initiate offense and can get his shot.I like Harangody as well,don't know how much PT he or AB will get once season starts,but has a fluidness offensively that I like.Baby was a scoring force able to create his shot many different ways,the guy he was scoring over Elton Brand is no slouch either.Baby is gonna have a big year as a spark plug,this improved version reminds me of a poor mans Barkley.Playing with all this talent he'll get alot of great looks.JON looked great rebounding,thats the main function for him and Shaq,boy are we loaded.

Hi,
Unfortunately I was able to see only the end of the 2nd quarter and part of the 3rd. But what I saw was very sad. I'm not talking about Celtics or 76's, I'm talking about the refs. Or, to be specific, the new rules. I'm afraid that it'll become borderline ridiculous come the reg. season and playoffs. As an example. Last night JON's got a T just for staring at the ref; on the other side Doug Collins was yelling in the ref's face and got away. Why? Only because, IMO, he just got a T, so ejecting a coach during a pre-season game just for arguing would look insane. Also, one of the reasons for new rules, to speed up the game, goes out of window: you have to shoot a FT and then inbound the ball instead of just inbound the ball.
Oh well... I hope Stern et al will learn the lesson quick.

I'd love to go back to the 2 ref system. Seems with 3 they continue to step on each others toes. With 2 you might be able to get rid of about 20 or so of the total usless ones. (yeah I realize there are probably more than 20)
Plus there would be 2 less ears and eyes to offend.

I remember a year or so ago they tried to do the same thing with no complaining after a call good or bad, any question of the call would/could result in a T. That lasted about as long as the synthetic ball.

Overall I thought we played quite well and it was fun to watch the new and young C's play. There will be some tough decisions on who the last one to keep is. Hopefully the right decision will be made and I have no clue what the right decision should be either.

I can jsut see someone like Lasme comming back to bite us in the rear in a couple years should he be one to go.

I certainly hope so. Guy has some serious upside potential from what i've seen. Just seems to have a nose for things. Which is not bad for a player that is 12 man or so on the bench.

Agree West and Wafer should be the ones to go IMO.

other reasons he's a keeper.
In 2007, Lasme tied an NCAA record of four triple doubles during a season.[2] Lasme joins Jason Kidd (1994 at Cal) and Michael Anderson (1986 at Drexel) as the only college players to tally four triple doubles in a single season. While Kidd and Anderson accomplished the feat by achieving double figures in scoring, rebounds, and assists, Lasme's triple doubles are in scoring, rebounds, and blocks. His 4 triple doubles were:

vs. St. Francis on 22 November (19 pts, 10 reb, 11 blocks);
vs. George Washington on 10 January (23 pts, 15 reb, 11 blocks);
vs. Rhode Island (18 pts, 12 reb, 11 blocks) on 8 February and
vs. La Salle on 28 February (17 pts, 10 reb, 10 blocks).

On September 21, 2008, Lasme signed with the Euroleague club Partizan Belgrade for the 2008–09 season.[10][11] After three games in the competition, he was second in Euroleague in both blocks and rebounds per game.[12] Lasme finished his first season with Partizan averaging 10.7 pts, 6.6 rebs, and 1.48 blocks in 24.7 min/game
