I know it was only one game but....
Knowing good and well the sample space is very small, but watching BKN play last night was as close to a G-league team I have seen in a while. If this keeps up, BKN will be lucky to even make the first round as a 7-8 seed. The final score was no indication of what a route this game should have been. Steve Nash was looking very worn down already. The whole team did. (Kyrie will do that to you.) Harden looks out of shape. KD was KD. That was about it. Good luck, BKN. That opens up the East for us. We're on deck tonight. Let's see what the new look Celtics look like!

Agreed they got taken to from the get go….Their defense looked like sh.t. Could they have played with any less fire? Opening night teams hustle like crazy, didn’t see any of that.

Wishful thinking....It is just a matter of time for them. If Kyrie sticks to his guns, they will not be the team to be feared, for sure. If he comes back, I just wonder how long it will take for them to get in sync and start rolling over teams. The one that that will kill this team is that they play little defense. What a mess, how would you like to be that owner paying those salaries and having a prima donna hold you back they way Kyrie is doing.
The one question I do have is....how long will they put up with him before they trade him??

It would appear the expectations are absolutely crushing them. Adding Kyrie back into the mix now or at any time in the future will only exacerbate the whole problem.
I'll start popping the popcorn. Favorite toppings/seasonings, anyone?

Speaking about "one game" how about the Lakers. Westbrook 4-13.

I wouldn’t put much weight on this one game. Brooklyn has the talent and will be there at the end.
It may help if Kyrie was there and…maybe not.
Didn’t we fare better when Kyrie was not playing for us and getting paid?
Kyrie never made us better and Brooklyn can still get there with or without him.
Kyrie is an elite player. No doubt. But where has he made any team better?

+1 Kyrie is ridiculously skilled, and is an artist with the ball. He can make difficult shots and find unlikely paths to the basket, which is fun to watch. But hoops is a sport, not an art, and making difficult shots is not an effective long term winning strategy.

I'll agree with Ktron as well.
Brooklyn has the talent to compete for the title in the East with or without Kyrie.
Ktron also makes a good point; I believe with the outside possibility of 1 year with Cleveland, Irving hasn't been a difference maker for anyone.
If anything Irving has been more of a consistent distraction.

It’s only been a few days but I don’t understand how you can be a player and love the game and not be amped about being out there right now. So far its been pretty exciting.
Maybe Kyrie really doesn’t love the game like Durant and others.
Another thought- Have you noticed that for the past few years every time we hear something about Kyrie it has something to do with him NOT playing?
Hmmmm…
