NBA 2016 and 2017 Draft Redo Picks 1-3
In 2016
Simmons, Ingram and Brown were drafted 1,2 and 3. My redo has Brown, Ingram and Simmons (1-3)
In 2017
Fultz, Ball and Tatum were drafted 1, 2 and 3. My redo has Tatum, Ball and Fultz (1-3)
This does not contemplate that other players could have been in the top 3.
In any case, Brown and Tatum are the clear #1 players from B2B drafts. The Celtics have built their team around those guys while stops along the way have not worked out too well.
Now this team is completely built around the Jays minus a tweak or 2. Last season the Celtics did not add sufficient quality depth around the Jays. Stevens immediately changed that and now the only thing he needs to do is stay the course.

For a year that was considered a bridge year by the board, I’d say we exceeded expectations. I think Ime expected a bigger jump from Nesmith, who unfortunately regressed. GWill definitely made a jump, I consider him more a 3-4 than a 4-5 for obvious reasons. Smart excelled in his role after a meddling start, as did Pritch. Schroder was a waste, even though he had some good games when he was on. Why we signed him for a one year rental, I didn’t get it? Al was an unexpected spark plug and 2 J’s settled into roles of do everything wings quite well. RWill had tremendous growth, despite battling injuries. Our defense became our calling card and was great to see.

Kudos to Danny and let’s not overlook 2018 Time Lord picked 27th who makes the top 10 or so in most recent re-drafts.

Definitely should not overlook Timelord and Marcus.
This team has a great core of guys who fit into a timeline that should afford the Celtics the opportunity to remain competitive over an extended period of time.
I mentioned the Jays because finding just one guy at their level is difficult to do in any draft. To secure both of them in B2B years is really amazing.
Their development should be a revelation to Celtics management. If you break up that pair you would be going against your stated goal to build a championship team around the two of them.
