There you go. One team's nightmare is another team's wet dream.

The least surprising developments in the NBA so far this season.
More proof that nothing is as strange as every day real life.
Odd? Sure. Predictable? Absolutely.

The Celtics are, reportedly, not asking for any compensation from the Nuts (now that Prokhorov no longer owns them they're not the Nyets anymore). A 2nd would be nice, but...
It will be interesting to see how Ime gets along with Kyrie. Ime's a disciplinarian (at least regarding basketball-related activities) and won't take much shite from Kyrie, or will he? This is a life preserver for him, he needs to succeed here and Kyrie doesn't GAF about what anybody thinks he should or should not do and say. GM Sean Marks is saying there are "discussions" with ownership regarding a fitting punishment for Kyrie's outbursts. How will prima donna Kyrie respond to that, and then how will that affect Ime?

Is there something in the CBA restricting speech off the court which is not related to basketball?

The worst part for me of this latest Diarrhea Breath nonsense is that he supposedly has millions of followers on Instagram and Twitter. I’m not on either, but have to imagine a good number of his followers are kids who may be quite impressionable and look up to him. The harm he can do spouting this nonsense is alarming.
He should be condemned by all the other players and suspended indefinitely.

I'm going to push all-in that the sole condition that Ime is hired is Kyrie has to go or he has one-shot and he's gone. It's time for the nonsense to stop and play basketball.

+1 if it’s good enough for Shaq, Barkley and you to condemn this idiot, it works for me….

So the petulant idiot has been suspended by his franchise for 5 games. He refused to apologize and was given many opportunities with Nets management guiding and explaining what the idiot did was WRONG….but he refused, leaving the franchise no choice except to suspend him the next 5 games. Well this is going to be great for that organization and teams chemistry going forward.

Kyrie has suddenly found a place on my prayer list. I pray he does not get traded to Boston.

Kyrie is being punished and for good reason. Kyrie will play for someone until he decides to call it a day. We all wish that day was yesterday but as the Chad and Jeremy song goes “that was yesterday and yesterday’s gone.” Unfortunately he is still here. There’s a team that will likely put up with his BS because “He got those handles”.
I do want to follow up on a point that Charles Barkley made.
Barkley said that Kyrie should be (suspended) punished and compared him to owners that have been shown the door for racist comments etc. Barkley asks “What’s the difference”?
While all parties are wrong and should be held accountable, we can not draw parallels when it comes to owners and a player.
Owners possess power and control in professional sports. They hire, fire, draft, waive and make trades.
Players do not. Owners making bigoted statements and practicing racism cannot be compared to a player making or pushing a racist or anti Semitic agenda. Players have little to no power. Owners not only have power within the sport and franchise they own, they also have a great deal of power in the other businesses that they either own or are a part of. Their power is far reaching and effect thousands of people who are seeking employment, are employed by them and those who seek to do business with them. Players as a whole do not.
Kyrie having millions of Instagram followers should not be conflated with the power dynamic. Kyrie for sure has influence over his followers but influence and power are not identical twins. Just barely related.
Barkley is similar to Kyrie in that they both delve into areas where they have very little expertise in.
This is not a “Shut up and Dribble” argument. Its more about knowing what the hell you're talking about. Knowing by extensively researching a subject or having lived through it. There are scholars and civic leaders that have spent their entire adult lives fighting for social justice and whether one agrees with them or not, know what they are talking about. Folks like Barkley and Kyrie barely scrape the surface yet they think and try to pass themselves off as experts.
Barkley also pointed out that Adam Silver is Jewish and “dropped the ball” on handling Irving. Barkley then said what he thought Silver should have said. “You can’t take my $40 million and insult me. If you’re going to insult me, you have the right. But I have the right to say “No, you’re not gonna take my $40 million and insult my religion”. Kyrie insulted Jews and should have been taken to task immediately but tell me how what the rest of what Barkley said makes any sense at all.
TNT’s Kenny Smith is well read and very plugged into civic and social issues but TNT would rather give a numbskull like Barkley his own show on civil rights simply because “he sells”. Who cares if the content he spits make sense or not. Barkley is a clown and folks just lovvve him to death.
The Dunning-Kruger effect applies to both Kyrie and Barkley.
They know not of what they think they know.

Kenny expressed a much more nuanced appreciation of the Kyrie situation than did Barkley.
