Nutty Nets Backpedal and Hire Vaughn

The Brooklyn Nets are hiring assistant Jacque Vaughn as head coach after parting with Steve Nash, the team announced Wednesday. Here’s what you need to know:

Vaughn was named interim coach after Nash’s departure on Nov. 1.
The 47-year-old has been on Brooklyn’s staff since 2016 and was previously interim head coach after the Nets let Kenny Atkinson go in 2020.
The Athletic previously reported that the Nets planned to hire suspended Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka.


Can this franchise just shut the door and close up shop- for good?

I saw this one coming  (I think the Nets will back off.  Way too much distasteful drama circulating around the Nets Franchise)

I would add that Vaughn is a good hire.

This makes sense. Vaughn is a known entity for the team and has no bad baggage. I saw an article today that Kyrie was ignoring the plays Nash called. I doubt he pays much attention to any coach. Regardless of the coach, Kyrie needs to leave before they will right that ship. Ime dodged a bullet.

Im not too sure. He has no track record of winning. Been an assistant for years so maybe he’ll be decent. Problem is is that this is the Nets. They stink from the top down and until they sell they’ll always be bad. So we may never know how good -or bad Vaughn can be. Not here.
