Jaylen Brown's right hand gets stitched up ahead of playoffs

The finger laceration that forced the Celtics to rule Jaylen Brown out for Friday’s game required stitches.


Brown met with reporters before Boston hosted Toronto again and explained the bizarre situation. Apparently, he injured his hand when picking up a busted vase, and he had to get five stitches as a result.


Brown expects to be ready for the playoffs, but now he’s added a finger problem on his shooting hand on top of the face issue that requires him to still wear a mask.

He'll be ah-ight.  It's stitches.  He gets about a week off before R1/G1 after all is said and done.  Fuel to the fire, my friends, fuel to the fire.

Brad Stevens said Jaylen Brown should be practicing by the middle to the end of the week. So the hand issue isn’t expected to last long.

Jaylen Brown says he's has figured out the padding for the cut on his hand. Says there is some pain but he can block that out. Padding seems minimal from what I saw. It's at the base between his right forefinger and middle finger.

Brown said he got the stitches out yesterday and feels much better. He’s still working through reps, trying different methods to protect the finger and expects to play tomorrow.
MY NOTE:  Ask anybody who has gotten stitches, which would include me, the difference in how you feel between stiches in and stitches out is significant.
